BSN transferring to LPN program?

Nursing Students General Students

Published

I'm currently in a BSN program and starting clinicals in September. Took nursing foundations and all my preqs my first year. This is my second bachelor's degree.

My life has been going to crap and my grades have been suffering. I went from a straight A student to a straight C student this semester. I went through a separation with my husband, was in a psych ward for a week because of mental health issues, and am really struggling with being in school for the next three years. Family drama, etc.

I'm debating going to an LPN program just so I can be accomplished with something next year. Is this stupid? I know all my prereqs won't transfer to the LPN program, but it will be slightly easier. And maybe I can do well then. :/ Any advice?

It would have been absolutely fine for her to word it as such but instead she chose to admonish the OP and tell her what to do without knowing her circumstances which is never, ever acceptable and puts people off. Not exactly what I think Jesus would want.

Okay let me first say I reread her post and I skimmed over where she said "hopefully you have a relationship with the father..." I did NOT see that at first which is why I scratched my head when people were kinda being rude for her basically saying to pray because it helps. That's rather condescending and as a Christian I would never say "HOPEFULLY you believe in what I believe in..." yada yada yada. That makes people who really follow the Lord come off as rude and gives off an "i'm better than you vibe" I totally see where you guys are coming from and I apologize Luchador!!! Checked off my embarrassing act for the day..

I really didn't mean to come off as an ***. I have had close friends that were profoundly religious, but they never. . . ever. . .would tell somebody in crisis, "first thing you need to do is pray to jesus." If somebody in crisis is not spiritual, telling them to pray is not just useless, it adds to their sense of futility.

I think she is some sort of troll. That was her first post.

My question, why do people bother to come here and troll? That I do not get. Haha, and I am supposed to be a psych expert.

Boredom. Attention seeking. Probably even some with mental health issues?

I'm on a cancer survivor's message board and there's trolls there as well. That one they like to say "my wife/son/etc. died last night" and then soak up the sympathy or "my wife/son/etc died due to Round up" and post a link so they get clicks.

At least it is not unique to nursing.

5 years ago I withdrew from a BSN program in the prerequisites stage because I was going through a lot financially and emotionally due to a split with my kids father.. Monday I started Term 2 of my LPN program and guess what... I’m still struggling financially it never really gets easier I just got stronger mentally! I would suggest you keep going until the wheels fall off and when that happens run the entire way to the finish line.. wishing you much love and success
