Hello,
I am starting the RN program on Monday, 08/20/07. I am wondering if there are any other students here who are attending or have attended. I am interested in some guidance and a study group. I live in Sunrise and go to the Central Campus in Davie.
Please PM me for my email.
thanks.
Oh yeah, why only a little bit of peds? lol. I would hate having dr pharm for clinical.. she scares me, but others in my clinical group who had her for process says that she was never rude, but she would try to fail you, but CI for HA1 is rude and would rather have dr. pharm, idk. but nonetheless, south campus has some crappy teachers... oh and also the only elegant person there is not teaching psych this august, it's going to be the OB teacher. =/
yikes! the OB teacher? I had her for psych clinicals an she would make me write the MSE (mental status exam) all over again for one little word--- I hated it, so I would try to write as big as I could--
when I was in peds-- dr. pharm had 2 MSN students doing their teaching practicum-- so one day one of the MSN students would teach and the other day the other MSN student would do the lecture. So the one that I heard that was teaching process Mrs "w". if that is who I think she is-- that was one of the msn students when I was there. and she was not great, I guess she was nervous, so she would just read straight from the paper. The other one was a lot better than her. so dr. pharm only did lectures for some topics but most of them was the MSN students plus the tests made up by the peds pharm teacher.
Now that I am working, I find out that the teachers for nursing schools do not make that much money! maybe that is why they are so mean to the students! at work-- WE ALL have horrible stories about our nursing school days!!!!!!! even the nurse that has been there 16 years to the ones that just started!!!
OHH I am so hoping you do super well and pass and get mrs ykw out of your face!
wow, we should exchange emails or Instant Messenger Names, because I have so many questions for you LOL =) And I'm hoping I get dr. ykw out of my face come thursday too, i want to move on.
of course! I have my instant messenger posted in my profile!
you can send me e-mails and PM's now, I changed my settings

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG I have to tell you the book I used for OB so you dont have to read that huge olds and london book!!!!!!!!!!
congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Which Campus would be the best campus to attend (south, central, or north). I hear different stories about each campus on the way the program is, the teachers, ect....
I don't know from personal experience since I'm not in the program yet, however, I've heard that north seems to have less horror stories than central and south.
Good luck!
I was hoping someone could give me some insight on the clinicals. I just applied to Broward College to take the prereq courses I still need (have Bachelor's already) before I can apply to the nursing program. The clinical schedules are listed at 6:30am to 6:30 p.m.for one or two days. My concern as a single mom is getting my elementary child to school. Do you have to be there the entire day? I know that it will be awhile before I can take the clinicals but I would like to know if this is the right career change for myself and my daughter.:typing

I'm not in the program yet, but I am finishing up pre-reqs myself, so I have tried to gather as much info as I could about the program. I remembered reading the answer to this question on this board, so I went and looked, and found it. Here's the link (post #16 I think):

Not sure which campus you want to attend, but this was for the North Campus I think. South and Central may be different. Good Luck!
