Broward Community College Students

Published

Hello,

I am starting the RN program on Monday, 08/20/07. I am wondering if there are any other students here who are attending or have attended. I am interested in some guidance and a study group. I live in Sunrise and go to the Central Campus in Davie.

Please PM me for my email.

thanks.

What is the name of the entrance test? Is it the NET, PAX, or TEAS?

I suppose they are not using that entrace test right at this time. but perhaps when you try to get in that program they just might.

so might as well prepare for it, it won't hurt you if you do.

the test is called: NLN

google nln test and it should come up with a lot of info on it

I sent an e-mail to the nursing coordinator and below you'll see my questions and her answer...

1. When should a student take the Nursing school Pre-exam?

BCC does not require a pre-exam.

2. What is the name of the pre-exam?

See above

3. Does BCC- North offer the exam?

See above

4. Is there a waiting list for applicants. If so what is the cut off G.P.A.?

BCC does not have wait-lists, we have application periods. The next application period is from August 1 through October 1 for the January 2009 RN class.

Hello everyone, I have a question, not sure if i should post it here, but since it has to do with BCC.

I was wondering if anyone can give me some info on their experience in regards to the campus they attend in BCC. I recently got my Pre-Admissions letter and i am undecisive on what campus to attend. I heard that the North Campus is the best campus, But I live in Miami Lakes and the North Campus is Pretty far from me. The closest campus is the central campus.

Please let me know how you like the campus you attend and how you feel about your teachers and anything else you would like to share.

Thanks! :D

Is anyone starting the nursing program at BCC in Aug 2008? Can anyone give me any tips on Do's and Don'ts....PLEASE...thank you.:D

Min2028,

What campus do you plan to attend?

Hey! Question: the HCP0130 that BCC requires as a pre-req to enter their Nursing Program, what is the equivalent to that class at DADE?? Is it the HSC0003?? I'm asking you because from your previous posts it seemed as if you did your pre reqs at dade and transferred over to bcc for Nursing. Figured I would try on here before I called BCC! Thanks ALOT!

Hey i just transferred to bcc and they accepted my hsc001 class from miami-dade.

I tried searching for the HSC0001 but its not coming up; when I visited with MDC nursing advisor she said MDC offers HSC0003...I'm sure it's prob the same thing... ugh! frustrating! I swear I'm about to just go to Barry! That's the only class I'm missing for BCC-- I could take it in the fall but i'm not sure if I can still turn in the application for the Spring term while I'm enrolled in that pre-req. I think I'm just going to have to give them a call--Hopefully they're helpful!

Thanks alot!

yes, it is HSC0003, I took it when it was HSC0001

I would go to BCC and ask if you can take it at the same time as you start the first semester, because I know that when I started a few people did not have that class and were taking it during the first semester.

but then again, rules change all the time.

BCC is not a great school, but I passed boards and got a job, so I am thankful for that.:nurse:

did you read my previous posts on this thread?

that is my experience.

I live in miami, and I went to South campus. which was OK,

North is the best

South is ok

Central is the worst of the worst--- we had a few students in my class that transfered from central to south campus, and they said that central was like being in the military, very strict strict strict. they made them wear uniforms during lab, which we in south, only wore uniforms when we went to clinicals, at central you had to have 2 id badges, one of the school ID, the other, the hospital ID that you have to go and get at the hospital the first week of school.

I would of gone to north, but that is an hour away from me, and I lived close to university of miami in coral gables.
