Hello,
I am starting the RN program on Monday, 08/20/07. I am wondering if there are any other students here who are attending or have attended. I am interested in some guidance and a study group. I live in Sunrise and go to the Central Campus in Davie.
Please PM me for my email.
thanks.
Thanks for the congrats. WOW!! AN A!!??!! We would have died for that. I got a B. NO ONE in my Process class got an A. I am at the Central Campus. For many of us C is continuing. Two people I know got a B in GIGU and they deserved it. I have heard some creepy stories about that math exam. Any suggestions on practice questions? Any websites? Thanks again.
The north campus instructor has a lot of practice worksheets on her website. Try www.broward.edu/~gbrickma
That should work but if not try doing a people search on BCC's website for gregg brickman. Then, click on personal website.
Good luck with the math.
I don't know any websites, but I did practice with the practice questions that came with the lab packet.
we had a new instructor teaching us, so we bought 2 packets one for lab and one for lecture.
that instructor was so so horrible. she made me hate peds.
but now at my job, I love it, I couldn't do it any other way, I love peds now that I am working

I used that webiste too!!! there are 2 sheets with 10 q in them. They are pretty good. On the peds, the first 2 I never knew how to get the answer. To me they were pretty hard.
Does anyone know if the north campus has a long waiting list for spring 09?
I know that they took out the waiting list and are accepting students by points.
check www.broward.edu and type "nursing" under search and all the details are there.
BTW when you are accepted to BCC you can choose any campus to go to, you are not just accepted to a specific campus
I heard that you cannot take courses at a different campus, is that true? Like say for instance you get accepted to the north campus program, you can't take any classes at central
Not quite.
once you get accepted at BCC you choose which campus you want to attend.
For example, when I got accepted, and was able to sign up for classes. Which once you get into your account thru www.broward.edu it will tell you the day that you can sign up for classes.
Now once you choose your classes, they all have to be at the same campus. You can't choose one clinical at south campus and the lecture at north campus. ALL HAVE TO BE THE SAME CAMPUS
once you start at that campus, that is where you have to finish. no ifs and or buts about it.
It is a very strict school, some teachers don't care about you, and some just want to make your life miserable. Students are not respected from teachers......(some teachers are biased... and the students with the blue eyes and blonde hair get more privilages than you)
I started out at NOVA but I ended up going to bcc because I failed a class, advanced A&P, but even if I had passed, I didn't have enough income to be qualified for loans even if my mom signed for me(she doesn't make more than 18K/yr). so everything happens for a reason.
now I am an RN and I love working, nothing like school.
Oh yes,
they also recommend staying at the campus that you started at.
One woman from my class was doing well, and she moved closer to north campus at our last semester. and all campuses are different, so that campus made them have only a midterm and a final of 150Q she ended up failing.
our class was 3 100Q test. I did well in that school, and I went there because it was closest to my house.
I'm in miami, and south campus is in pembroke pines.

Once you are accepted at BCC it is like as if you were accepted to all the campuses. There is no different waiting list for each campus. and when it is time to choose your classes, you stay at that campus unless there is a situation that makes you unable to attend the campus.
like the woman I mentioned above. She lived with her boyfriend and 2 kids in pembroke pines, but in towards the end of the program, she ended up leaving south campus for north campus because she moved closer to that campus.
I know one guy who graduated with me lived in pembroke pines but the first semester attended north campus because he said he signed up for classes too late, and there was no open positions in north campus, so he petitioned to the dean to let him attend the pembroke pines campus because that was closer to his house... and they let him.
they do not do that with everyone, but it is possible to move campuses but you have to have a GOOD EXCUSE such as moving closer to the campus .......... idk any other excuse!
understand?
If you wish to attend north campus, you'll have a seat available. The good and bad news is that north is the largest campus as far as the number of students admitted to the program. Good news b/c they'll have space for you. Bad new b/c they'll be more than 100 students in nursing process 1 in a classroom maybe designed for 40. Just don't be late.
