Hello,
I am starting the RN program on Monday, 08/20/07. I am wondering if there are any other students here who are attending or have attended. I am interested in some guidance and a study group. I live in Sunrise and go to the Central Campus in Davie.
Please PM me for my email.
thanks.
Shopping for booksShould I buy the bundle? They try to make it seems as if you're getting a good deal, but the bundle is $54 more than it would cost to purchase the books individually.
Also, the bookstore in the gas station has used books which total about $142 less than the bundle.
So, are the e-volve (electronic) books worth the extra money?
Are there CDs or website codes that I'll miss if I buy the used books?
Thanks!
I woud buy them inividually because I bought the bundle and it does not come with ALL the books needed in the nursing program.
It has up to GI/GU and you don't need all the books that come with the box. you will have to buy on your own a lot a lot of books. There is a lab values book, that I only used once! the medsurg book come with tons of lab values section, the physical assessment book.......um you can find the physical assessment sheet in just two pages in the GI/GU packet.
I wasted so much money in that bundle, I should have bought my books used from half.com, and for being an idiot I got books at the book store.
i just sold a bunch of my books on half.com recentlyand I made $200
oh yeah the CD book that comes with the bundle SUCKS, I threw it away, it was so so so so difficult to install, that I just gave up and threw it out the garbage,
when I got to peds, they changed the book, and the newbook came shrinkwrapped with a CD book also by evolve. It sucked too, so I threw it away as well.
I just read out of my books instead of the computer, it is less of a headache for me.
I am starting my new job in 10 days!! I am nervous, I am gonna work in PEDS,
In school, peds was horrible, I had a horrible teacher that made me not want to do pediatrics.
I'm gonna be working in orthopedics/post-surgery pediatric unit.
First job out of school, and I am very nervous, but happy at the same time, that all the years that I put for school finally came to an end,and now I start a new beginning.
if you guys study hard, work hard... you will make it too.
I bought the bundle but I think I'm going to return it on Monday and buy the books from KF Discounts or Book Express.
Does the publisher only provide the CD or is there an interactive website?
I found the website for the Chem book very helpful. However, you can't access it if you buy a used book and the previous owner used the access codes.

Also, thanks for your words of encouragement.

I found that the questions on the website for the books are exactly the same ones that you find on the cds that come with the books, so it's a waste of time to go on the website........ unless you do the website at work, which I used to sneak in web time once in a blue moon
Congrats Sandy!:bowingpur:lol2:
I feel the same way. I just made it out of Process I and I got an A. It is a little disheartening that so many others failed. Yesterday, when grades were released students were screaming , crying, and one even fainted. Definately, not what I expected. I will also begin reading ahead for Process II. One down, only 8 nursing courses to go. I'm on my way.
OMG!!! I cannot believe that I made it out of GIGU. First time I got a C in a class ever, but I am just going to deal with it. Moving on to Peds. I am very afraid, but am starting my reading now. Wish me luck!
when I was there, we used to joke around with eachother and say "C=continuing"
once you are in peds.. the time just passes by real fast. I concider peds the half way point.
Study for that math test, that is where I fell behind because of that math test. I was expecting a similar test like the first one, and I got a way way harder math test the 2nd time around.
congrats on passing!!

I agree. I don't understand honestly how so many people fail that first class.
i think if you study you can make it.
Congrats on passing, and you will see how the time goes by fast.
hey are you and sandy in north campus??
Thanks for the congrats. WOW!! AN A!!??!! We would have died for that. I got a B. NO ONE in my Process class got an A. I am at the Central Campus. For many of us C is continuing. Two people I know got a B in GIGU and they deserved it. I have heard some creepy stories about that math exam. Any suggestions on practice questions? Any websites? Thanks again.

I brought the bundle so that I have all the books. The CD really helped me with my online quizzes and studying from module.
