Broward College Nursing Program January 2017

Hello to all the future Applicants for the January 17' nursing program. I know it's really early and August admission process hasn't been completed yet but I couldn't help my self. I'm so anxious to get in the program it took me a long time to get to this point. I have completed all the pre reqs that have an affect on your gpa and I have a 3.0. I recently just passed the Hesi for the second try with a 76% in anatomy, 92% in math and 80% in the other 3 sections. I'm in MGF1106 right now grades will post early Aug. so I'm going to turn in the Application right after that. I hope this forum can be used for all us to get through this waiting process together.

Last semester our alternates did not get in. Semesters before they have. I should know before Thanksgiving if the campuses are satisfied with their numbers.
Thank you!!! I now have a better understanding of the process, I tend to function better when I have timeframes to work with. Fingers crossed we all get seats this semester, if not I will try for May 2017. Thank you again, you answered all my questions :up:

Hey everyone, I am wondering if i can use Hesi scores i took at MDC to apply at Broward, or will i have to take the HESI at Broward Campus for it to be applicable to their nursing program??

Maybe Nicole can answer that for you. I know each school has different requirements.

I do not see why they should'nt accept it if you have successfully done: Math, Vocabulary, Grammer, Reading Comprehension, Anatomy. Some schools require critical thinking. BC did not.

Yes you can use those scores as long as they meet the minimum score of 75 (or higher) and you took the required sections. We look at the individual sections not the overall.

Hello everyone!! First time posting... just wanted to congratulate all those accepted for Jan 17 and wish luck to all the alternates. I have the Wed 9am orientation. I look forward to seeing some of you there!! :)

However,I did not meet the 75% score for the Grammar, A&P & Vocab Sections *by 1 percent :(

Can i retake those sections individually at BC?

Yes you can retake them at BC.

Hi Nichole I have a question, seeing how all 34 alternates got accepted today, is there any hope for the rest of us who have 3.0 gpa's of getting in for January? And are we now the alternates? I've been trying to get in since August and I'm getting a bit discouraged. :unsure: Thank you.

No, we do not have another alternate pool. Right now the program is full. If we find we need new students for the program we will go back into the eligible pool of students and invite.

The last two semesters have been very competitive.

I do understand how you feel. Don't give up. Try and take a course over to bring up your GPA. I know its expensive at the private schools.
