Broward College Nursing Program January 2017

Published

Hello to all the future Applicants for the January 17' nursing program. I know it's really early and August admission process hasn't been completed yet but I couldn't help my self. I'm so anxious to get in the program it took me a long time to get to this point. I have completed all the pre reqs that have an affect on your gpa and I have a 3.0. I recently just passed the Hesi for the second try with a 76% in anatomy, 92% in math and 80% in the other 3 sections. I'm in MGF1106 right now grades will post early Aug. so I'm going to turn in the Application right after that. I hope this forum can be used for all us to get through this waiting process together.

Do you know how they award the points ? How are they calculated ?

It's calculated by your gpa on the pre reqs. Then you get 1 point starting at 2.5, two points at 2.6, three at 2.7 etc

Has anyone been accepted into the RN program? I'm currently studying for the Hesi . I see a lot of post about the GPA being 3.0

or higher to be accepted into the program. Is this the pre req or the students overall GPA?

I am applying for January 17' AS program and have a 3.0 GPA and got an 88 on the HESI! I submitted my application a couple of days ago and am now eagerly awaiting October to find out if I will be admitted! When I was turning the application in they said decisions should come out anywhere from Oct.1-15 so fingers crossed for everyone applying! I am super stressed because of my GPA. When I spoke with the health sciences advisor to review my supplemental application he said 3.0 is hit or miss depending on the pool of applicants and suggested I sign up for some classes required for AA incase I do not get in. Talk about being a nervous wreck for the next month! Best of luck everyone!

I just saw your message in my inbox but I cannot reply. What did you choose to do? I just graduated from West Cost University and it was the best decision I've ever made. Was able to participate in their Oxford Honors international Program, graduated with Honors and all the great things that I would not have been able to receive had I attended an ADN program. Also they offer a lot of perks for their students. They have paid my application fee for the nclex, plus they paid for the exam itself. Then they paid for our prep program and even more. If you are not already in a program I advise you to consider WCU. Have a great New Year!

I'm an alternate for August with a 3.0 and high 80 Hesi score in pretty upset considering past terms people have gotten in with lower gpas I'm considering my options trying to go maybe to chamberlain Keiser, Florida career college all my options even thinking of maybe doing lpn since it takes about a year and applying to the lpn to RN program at any school like broward or so I'm very passionate about nursing and really want to do it but I don't know if to risk waiting to hope I get in now as an alternate or even be hopeful for the january term

Judging by your past posts, you're a former BC student who either quit or failed out of the program from what you've said & posted on other threads.

The program isn't a walk in the park.dedicate yourself to it you'll pass. Not everyone makes it through but unless you're telling us you've spoke to all students in your semester & found out why they didn't make it to through I'd like to see some examples to back up the claim you've posted on EVERY Broward thread..BC has one of the highest pass rates in the state consistently.

Well i hope you graduated the program Broward College isn't the only school to graduate great nurses and it's true their pass rate is ridiculously low i was passing and still left because they are ridiculous MDC and many other schools are better options if you only have 5 people graduating and taking the exam OF COURSE the NCLEX pass rate will be higher than a school who graduates 60-80 students that sit for an exam that's basic math

Hi. I've just been accepted into the RN program for January. I just wanted to know how everyone is doing so far. Any tips would be helpful.
