Broward College Nursing Program January 2017

Published

Hello to all the future Applicants for the January 17' nursing program. I know it's really early and August admission process hasn't been completed yet but I couldn't help my self. I'm so anxious to get in the program it took me a long time to get to this point. I have completed all the pre reqs that have an affect on your gpa and I have a 3.0. I recently just passed the Hesi for the second try with a 76% in anatomy, 92% in math and 80% in the other 3 sections. I'm in MGF1106 right now grades will post early Aug. so I'm going to turn in the Application right after that. I hope this forum can be used for all us to get through this waiting process together.

Ceufast.com is $30 for one year of unlimited certifications. I already did all mine (except for BLS, it has to be done in person), printed them and put them in my important documents binder :)

Are you in the Facebook group? I posted links for ceufast.

Hi all:

There is a "rumor" going around about what happened in the alternate pre-admissions. Basically, someone told someone else that me or my team said "an unusual amount of students had declined their seats making way for all the alternates with room to spare." and "that there was more seats available".

If you attended yesterday's alternate meeting, you know those words did not come out of my mouth. Those alternates who attended yesterday were offered seats because seats became available. There are NO seats available right now. We accepted 265 students. Even with the alternates, not everyone showed up.

If, after registration, we see that there are seats available I will consult with the Associate Deans to decide the next course of action.

Have a great day!

Nichole

Nicole is awesome!!!! I am so happy I got accepted :). Okay guys as far as the Medical History and Physical Examination I found that MDnow has the best deal (for people without health insurance) plus they have a BC corporate account just bring your BC ID and the visit is $40 (physical) Plus the Titers and whatever vaccination you need after the titers, estimated cost is about $260 (without medical insurance), They are open 7 days a week from 8am-8pm. Flu shots at Walgreens, Walmart (free) or CVS. I also found a cheaper place to do the CPR( BLS) through the American Heart Association, they are called Vital for Life (Lauderhill) The price is $50 and its takes about 1-2 hrs and NO text book required and they are open 6 days a week. And finally for the CEU courses, CEUfast.com $30. Hope this information is useful to some people.

Did you get yours completed already? I have insurance but do not have a family physician. I called MDNOW. They told me because it is urgent care they do not accept insurance. I will find a physician in my network that will do the physical and give me a script for blood work. I thought we were receiving a package with the information. The document to fill out is it available online. ( The paperwork that your HCP should fill out)

I just called MD now and they said it is $433 with the discount for everything. Including physical.. It's not $260. And the woman on the phone said someone is in there now from BC and that was there total without insurance.

I am going to MDnow tomorrow (11/5/16), I called my primary doctor and there was no appointment available until after the 11/14 and it was a lot more money. You can go to Broward college website and go to admissions and choose healthcare (nursing) and the Medical form is there you can print it.

BC medical history form

BC used to have a health clinic. anyone know if that's still around? Pretty sure Nova has one too. I've only gone to Nova for dental stuff but it was wayyyy cheaper than my dentist.

That's the quote I got, I am going tomorrow so will be able to provide an exact amount. I had called the MD now in sunrise if that makes a difference. Did anyone go to the MD now (sunrise)??
