Broward College Nursing Program January 2017

Published

Hello to all the future Applicants for the January 17' nursing program. I know it's really early and August admission process hasn't been completed yet but I couldn't help my self. I'm so anxious to get in the program it took me a long time to get to this point. I have completed all the pre reqs that have an affect on your gpa and I have a 3.0. I recently just passed the Hesi for the second try with a 76% in anatomy, 92% in math and 80% in the other 3 sections. I'm in MGF1106 right now grades will post early Aug. so I'm going to turn in the Application right after that. I hope this forum can be used for all us to get through this waiting process together.

That's the quote I got, I am going tomorrow so will be able to provide an exact amount. I had called the MD now in sunrise if that makes a difference. Did anyone go to the MD now (sunrise)??

I did but only for a few vaccinations... not all. It was $40 for the physical and about $30 per shot

Please remember with the physical you must get the titer test, not just the shots.

Wait a minute. SHOTS? We are only doing titers, Right!(blood drawn) If we do not show immunity that is when we do the shots correct? The only shot is flu shot. Correct. ( wish we didn't have to do this one) Oh well!!

I do not know why it seems am making this more complicated than it is? I need to stop reading some things on here.

:)

Signing off for the weekend........

What I meant is you are supposed to be getting titers, not shots, unless your titer comes back negative or borderline. All I see is people talking about the shots they received. You are good! The Flu shot should be the only shot you get if you are positive for immunity for everything else

yeah sorry... i forgot everyone is doing titers... the only reason i got all the vaccinations is because i've never had any of them. i also did the titers after the vaccinations but i did that through my PCP's office, not MD Now.

Hello Everyone,

Thanks for all the information you all have been posting. The cheapest CPR training I have found is with Paramount Training Services in Broward. They offer a variety of programs and training sessions for healthcare workers. Their BLS is AHA approved and you will receive a card after the session and is for $45.00. You can register online here: Paramount Training Services Corp. - Fort Pierce, West Palm Beach and Oakland Park, Florida - BLS/CPR and First-Aid

I hope that helps someone. Please keep the advice on the MD Now, etc physical/titer prices forthcoming, as they seem the most priciest items on our list. I will be doing my certificates on CEUFAST, but I believe RN.COM also offers a similar deal for the annual fee of $48 or something. Good Luck with everything everybody - Keep moving forward and have a fantastic weekend. :)

Hello Again,

I just wanted to confirm the dates for having all paperwork completed please. We must have all necessary checks and documentation completed and uploaded onto Complio and a copy of this submitted to the nursing office by the below stated dates?

This includes our background check, CAE certificates, CPR (if necessary) and all health related shots/titers, etc. & drug screening?

South Campus: Dec 1st

North Campus: Dec 4th

Central Campus: Dec 5th

Can someone please confirm if this is correct? Thank you very much.

Oh, I must have the wrong date for North then? I didn't even check the days actually. I'll wait for the proper days when someone corrects me then - Thanks. Yes, actually I am British (originally) :)
