Hello to all the future Applicants for the January 17' nursing program. I know it's really early and August admission process hasn't been completed yet but I couldn't help my self. I'm so anxious to get in the program it took me a long time to get to this point. I have completed all the pre reqs that have an affect on your gpa and I have a 3.0. I recently just passed the Hesi for the second try with a 76% in anatomy, 92% in math and 80% in the other 3 sections. I'm in MGF1106 right now grades will post early Aug. so I'm going to turn in the Application right after that. I hope this forum can be used for all us to get through this waiting process together.
Hello everyone, as I'm reading some comments mentioning "Nicole" I keep wondering who this person is? Is she the health science advisor? If so, for which campus?
I am Nichole. I work for Health Science Admissions. I am based off of Central Campus. If you have questions, you can email me at [email protected].
Hi everyone!I'm applying for Spring 2017 admission to the nursing program. I completed the prerequisites for admission, I still have to do CHM and MCB though but as they're not needed for admissions I want to go ahead and apply now to start the program in January.
I'm going to take the HESI next week and I'm sorry if anyone has asked or answered this already but does anyone mind sharing how they studied for the exam or any advice they may have about it? How was the exam?
Thank you!
Hi Lexxa,
Hope all is well with you! These websites have helped me: HESI Anatomy and physiology Flashcards | Quizlet
Search › anatomy and physiology hesi a2 | Quizlet
Search › hesi a2 exam math | Quizlet
For the vocab, if you don't understand a word try to guess if it has a positive meaning or not. Also do the reading first since it will take longer. (It did for me). Sleep well, eat well, run or jog to release some stress (or listen to music). Do your best, I believe in you!
Hi Britt_bratt! I had the same problem. I took anatomy almost 2 years ago, so I really had to refresh myself with some old notes. I finally passed this weekend! I totally recommend using the Elsevier results and remediation information, that helped a lot. I also watched some youtube videos on topics I had a harder time with. Check out Crashcourse on youtube, they have some really good material for anatomy. Best of luck! :)
Hi guys! I'm just posting this to anyone who is looking for roomates at the beginning of the January 2017 program. I applied to the North campus, and i think i have a pretty good chance of getting in. I currently live in Orlando and am looking for options to live when i move down there. Does anybody have any ideas? I understand that being in the nursing program can limit the amount of time that one can work (I'm aware some people can work full time jobs while in school, but i am definitely not one of those people) I would love to hear your advice! Or like i said if anyone else is in the same situation :)
Hey cati2016! Go to Elsevier Evolve ( Find Elsevier Products, Shop Evolve for Online Savings | Evolve ) and log in with the same credentials you use when you log in when taking the HESI. Once you log in, click on Student Access and you'll be able to see your exam history. Click on one of those + next to the assessment report links and it will give you the option to look at your results for each section. Pick a section and then click on view material. It will give you a review of the questions you got wrong. Hope it helps! :)
