Broward College Nursing Program January 2017

Published

Hello to all the future Applicants for the January 17' nursing program. I know it's really early and August admission process hasn't been completed yet but I couldn't help my self. I'm so anxious to get in the program it took me a long time to get to this point. I have completed all the pre reqs that have an affect on your gpa and I have a 3.0. I recently just passed the Hesi for the second try with a 76% in anatomy, 92% in math and 80% in the other 3 sections. I'm in MGF1106 right now grades will post early Aug. so I'm going to turn in the Application right after that. I hope this forum can be used for all us to get through this waiting process together.

Hi future nurses,

I turned in my application 8 days ago. Anxious for the Sept. 15 deadline to come around. And like most of you, I'm checking my Limited Application Status daily. Sometimes multiple times a day. Lol. Just waiting to see my gpa in points. I believe a 3.3 is 9 points, from all the forums I've read!! I can't wait to begin this life-changing journey. Good luck to all of you!!

Just an update: Applications for January are going in very slowly right now as our focus is the programs beginning in August. After the Fall semester begins, we will shift our focus back to the Nursing applications for the January term.

Please pay attention to the reminders I have posted earlier in this thread.

Good luck!

It is a 2.8..what about you?

Ive got a 3.0 , well hopefully you get an A at keiser for a&p so boost your pre req gpa

I see a few people that have 3.0! I hope it's our turn and we can get admitted to the January term since 3.0s were alternates for August

Hi, I am just getting in on the action. I applied for January 2017 as well. I put in my application in July. I somewhat procrastinated about it at first knowing that I have to quit my job. I have been waiting along time to apply. I could have applied this pass January but I waited and waited. Nothing is before its time. I have a 3.4 GPA and I did well on the Hesi exam. All 80's. The anxiety is real. Moments after I drop the application I started looking and just trying to get a feel of what I am in for. I have heard horror stories , but I will not let other people's horror deter me. I have been looking on here and now I am probably going to get the required text and a dosage book and start reading as much as possible. My preferred campus will be North.

I just want to say good luck to everyone.

Thats what I'm shooting for!!

Hey everyone!!! Love this site!! I am applying to the nursing program at Broward for Jan 17. My Hesi total is about 92 but since I have 2 c's my program gpa is 2.6, which only awards me two points. I am so discouraged to be honest but hey, it is what it is. I am trying to retake ap as well as English at a private school but the price especially at Keiser is ridiculous. 2400 for one class!!! Anyhow I am trying to remain hopeful for Jan as I heard from the counselor that she has seen people with a 2.5 get in, just depends on how many people apply and with what gpa's. Hopefully we all get a chance to show our stuff :) Any advice you guys have will be welcome!!

Hey Nurseguy. Did you calculate your 2.6 GPA based on ENC1101 and A&P 1 and 2 with labs only? None of the GPA's on our transcripts or degree audit count toward this program. Nursing admissions calculates it differently. If you didn't, maybe it's better than what you think. Also, what about financial aid for Keiser? Class load for qualification is a minimum of 6 credits, I believe, which is just 2 classes.

So, after lots of thread stalking, I've decided to say hi.... HI I turned in my application for the January term last week and did my vaccinations today. I know the health screening isn't supposed to be done until we get into the program but I've never had a Hep B vax before. Since it's a 3 series vax, I needed to start ASAP. BC has always been my first choice for nursing. Campus location doesn't really matter to me. I'm also enrolled at MDC so I might apply to their nursing program. Time for the waiting game now

Hello !! What's your campus of choice and gpa and Hesi scores I'm really aiming for central !! I'm applying to a few other schools as well just in case

Well, I live right between central and north so either of those would be preferable, commute wise. I like south campus too tho. That's where I did a lot of my pre-reqs. I guess I'm ok with any of them lol. My GPA is 3.5 and my overall HESI was a 94%. I really like MDC, but they require quite a few extra pre-req's that I haven't done yet. If I went there I wouldn't get to apply for the January term and I really don't want to wait anymore. I have an appointment with Keiser tomorrow at 4:00... I'm going out of curiosity I suppose. I'm 99.9% sure I'll stay with broward. I really really want BC grad on my resume 😆

Me too I really hope we find out by the end of next month !! I applied for August but was an alternate with a 3.0 and upper 90s Hesi score hope this semester I'm officially in !!
