Broward College Nursing Program January 2017

Published

Hello to all the future Applicants for the January 17' nursing program. I know it's really early and August admission process hasn't been completed yet but I couldn't help my self. I'm so anxious to get in the program it took me a long time to get to this point. I have completed all the pre reqs that have an affect on your gpa and I have a 3.0. I recently just passed the Hesi for the second try with a 76% in anatomy, 92% in math and 80% in the other 3 sections. I'm in MGF1106 right now grades will post early Aug. so I'm going to turn in the Application right after that. I hope this forum can be used for all us to get through this waiting process together.

It's going good! Just finished my second week..two more weeks to go! Hoping I get an A, staying hopeful.

I am on the last week. I'm not sure if we have the same class, but so far I am hopeful for that A too :)

I have a 95 so far. I am glad I took the class.

Me too I really hope we find out by the end of next month !! I applied for August but was an alternate with a 3.0 and upper 90s Hesi score hope this semester I'm officially in !!

Finding out the end of next month would be great! My birthday is Sept. 30th so it would be a wicked awesome bday present lol!! Do you know how many alternates were accepted for August term?

There was about 50 alternates I was one of them but they only took about 11 or 12 I believe so hoping this time 3.0 are not alternates !!

all fingers crossed!!!

I know it's silly but I'm trying to calculate my GPA based on ENC, AP 1 and 2. Is there a link to how they calculate it? My other thing is that I CLEP'd out of ENC so I don't know how that is calculated either.

GPA Calculator This is what I've always used! The most accurate.

BC GPA calculator

This is how it's calculated. Nichole posted this back in the August '16 thread...

For 3 credit classes:

A = 12 points

B = 9 points

C = 6 points

For 1 credit classes (LABS):

A = 4 points

B = 3 points

C = 2 points

Add up the total points and divide by 11.

Also, I recently found the calculator specific to BC. Here's the link... BC GPA calculator. It's the same formula that Nichole posted, but you can just punch in your grades and credits.

Hi, I am hoping to apply to the January nursing program. I take the HESI next Saturday. I have been studying on and off for the last few months and really cracked down these last 2 weeks, was wondering if anyone can give me tips on what to expect on the test? I would say my weakest links are in grammar and anatomy, more so in grammar. Thank you in advance and good luck to everyone!

Focus on conversions

I wanted to know has anybody heard stories that hospitals will no longer hire nurses with an associates degree? Or if a nurse with an Associates degree is hired it will be as if your an lpn and get lpn pay like $13 hr?
