Hello!
I just wanted to make a thread for nursing program at BC for this coming Fall semester.
I passed the Hesi last week after 4 days of studying. (Got tired of studying the Elvesier book so I took my chances)
My overall score: 85%. My lowest score's reading: 78% ( English is my second language and I took this section last so didn't have enough time to really read the questions)
I turned in my application last Wednesday. The lady said to look for an email around May- June.
Anyone is applying for Fall? Did your status on myBC change yet?
jaja12 said:hey you guys, I got accepted for January 2017. I was just wondering if anyone can give an in sight on what I should be expecting in fundamentals. I have already gone out and purchase the new edition book on my own a month ago and reading some chapters. Can anyone say how it is going for them and their experience?
you can read vitals chapter and physical assessment. Anything else will just be a waste of time. Except for very few instances, you'll not need to read if you're at North campus. The teachers take all their questions from the lecture.
Hi everyone! I am starting GIGU on Monday and we will have our math test on Tuesday. Does anyone know for the math test for GIGU do we need to practice chp. 17 in the dosage book. It covers advanced iv calculations of heparin and insulin per second. Minute and hour. We never covered any of this in the math class they provided and I don't want to waste time reviewing it if it's not necessary. I did go over the 2 worksheets that they provided for GIGU math practice and I didn't see any problems like those on it. Any advice would be appreciated :) thanks so much!

My thing is you want to be apart of a program that treat you with as much care and respect as a nurse would treat his or her patient. When someone is telling you not to go to this program here in BC it is because they genuinely care for you enough to warn you ahead of time. This dream that you have in your head that you will be the one out of five students that will graduate from the original 75 or so students will not come true. Don't take me wrong every nursing school is hard but it shouldn't be impossible. When I hear stories of past students that dropped out of Broward College to go to Chamberlin, FIU, Miami-Dade are saying how much easier it is and how they wish they didn't come to Broward College should tell you something. This isn't a 18 month program it is actually a 2 year ASN program, you will retrack (fail a course and be pushed back) a least once. You can fail one class (clinical or lecture) however if you fail two classes that will be considered more than 4 credit and you WILL have to go to LPN school which is a year long program. DO you really want to risk it here in Broward College? I recommend you to finish your AA or AS and get into a BSN program. We really care for you guys so please take this to heart. I know it might not be what you want to hear but I am being realistic and so are all these student telling you not to come. All this optimistic bosh you were being feed before about this nursing program is just false hope. If another student or the dean is telling you "Don't worry it isn't as bad as it seem. Don't let them scare you away!" are those who doesn't have your best interest at heart and want you to spend your money on this ****** program. That 96% passing rate they got that made this school the #2 college in the country is from those 10 students that made it through the programs, both retrackers and non-retrackers alike.

i would not recommend FCC
i went and i got a very bad vibe from them. They do not seem very knowledgable about the program, they want you in and expect you to finish in a year if you have all pre reqs.
