Hello!
I just wanted to make a thread for nursing program at BC for this coming Fall semester.
I passed the Hesi last week after 4 days of studying. (Got tired of studying the Elvesier book so I took my chances)
My overall score: 85%. My lowest score's reading: 78% ( English is my second language and I took this section last so didn't have enough time to really read the questions)
I turned in my application last Wednesday. The lady said to look for an email around May- June.
Anyone is applying for Fall? Did your status on myBC change yet?
Because I've seen another list that doesn't include those two courses on this site http://www.broward.edu/admissions/Documents/HSPrerequisites.pdf
You take pharmacology and math during the program.
Microbiology isn't REQUIRED before the program, but you will have to take it during the program if you didn't get it out of the way.
you'll be learning manual BP's first, so yes get a BP cuff and start learning how to use it now, on anyone that is nice enough to lend you an arm :) During your return skills you can only be 2 points off of what your instructor gets. (They get a BP of 120/80, and you get 123/83 or a 117/77 you will need to come back and repeat that skill).
For the scholarship that was presented to us at our first orientation , did anybody go through with it ? If so how did it work after completing the application & stuff online .
I completed the grant. It took about two weeks to get a response. I had to attend a orientation, complete a online exam, as well as complete a few online assessments, and a complete a resume. You have to meet with your career coach once a month as well as have your instructor sign that you are attending your classes, but in return they will receive up to 8,400 in funding. The grant covered my tuition this semester, the required book, and all the things on the supply list. It was worth it to me.
