Broward College Nursing Program August 2016

Hello!

I just wanted to make a thread for nursing program at BC for this coming Fall semester.

I passed the Hesi last week after 4 days of studying. (Got tired of studying the Elvesier book so I took my chances)

My overall score: 85%. My lowest score's reading: 78% ( English is my second language and I took this section last so didn't have enough time to really read the questions)

I turned in my application last Wednesday. The lady said to look for an email around May- June.

Anyone is applying for Fall? Did your status on myBC change yet?

When do our major change to A.S.? Mine is still A.A. Degree.

I got my backpack as a gift. My sweet friend got it for me when I took my Hesi and I pass it. She got me Tectonic wheeled backpack from samsonite. I love it is so big and it has so many compartments. I have been keeping all my things inside it fits. It has 3 years warranty. I am in love with it.

This is so true.

What kind of backpack are you guys buying? I was thinking on the rolling one since the books are so heavy.

4 more days until South Campus Orientation, I can't wait to meet everyone we made it and it feels like a dream. I am done with shopping school supplies and getting all ready for my first day of class. Now waiting to get my books. Ladies and Gentleman August 1st is here, in less than 3 weeks we will be officially nursing students.

what books did you get? I know we won't use all of the books on the list for sure. I got a few ebooks...I take notes faster with my iPad ( I use Notability app) and like the convenience of it. Will be easier for me to study at work also.

How many set of uniforms are you getting, how much do they cost at the book store.....scrub top, bottoms, collar shirt and lab coat ? Thank you so much in advance

I got mines while back but, I paid total $186, 4 top 24.98 each, 2 bottoms 19.98 each, sweater 34.98each. I just got 2 polos today 29.98each, for the entire week I know nursing schools will be busy so I don't want to wash every other day. For books today I spend $700, but I am not done I have to buy the bundle. I got use books from the store in some of them and new in the ones I needed. The blue bag I believe is $200. That doesn't include shoes, school supplies, clinical supplies, clinical bag and bookbag. Does expenses are not included.

They are from the list, but 4 they are suggested but does book are important too. I am missing the bundle and 2 more books from the list.

Okay,

It's almost the first week of classes and I wanted to make sure I was not forgetting anything:

I have purchased the nursing kit, books, shoes, scrub top and bottom, polo shirt, and white lab jacket

I also have a stethoscope, pen light, and bandage scissors.

Is there anything else required for the first week of classes? I heard somewhere that we might need a BP cuff? is that true?

Can someone please provide a list of all of the pre requisites for the AS program including the general education courses please
