Broward College Nursing January 2016

Published

Hey everyone, I'm applying to the nursing program for January 2016 at Broward College. I guess this will be the official thread for the January 2016, Broward college nursing students; since no one has made one yet. Who else is applying for this term and what courses do you have remaining to finish pre reqs? I'm currently enrolled in A&P 2 lecture and lab and also a math class which are the last two courses I need to apply. I finish the classes in August yayyy :)

Good luck :)

Yeah I got the white paper from the original packet we got from the admissions meeting

Only some locations gave the white paper back. Other locations said they don't do it anymore. We're waiting for south to send out an email regarding the issue. Those of us who are going to south.

I went yesterday to do my drug test, the location I went to is the one on North Miami Beach. The lab tech that attended me was very helpful. He did give me a receipt. I would totally recommend this site for all of those who still haven't gotten their drug test done!

Does anyone know a good doctors office or urgent care that does the physical and things? I went to md urgent care bet they told me it would be at least 170 if that's the best price I'll do it but if anyone has a good location with a better price plz let me know

They have a great price for the physical, but unfortunately the tetorifice, tb, and hep would be additional costs. If you have insurance, most insurances cover the cost of immunizations. For instance for me, I was tempted to have my physical at MD Urgent, but I was told I would have to pay for all immunizations out-of-pocket as many of these clinics will not run your insurance for immunizations.

If you do not have insurance through your workplace (I am 1099 and do not), I would sign up during open enrollment Nov 1 at healthcare.gov. Depending on your income, the gov't may help subsidize your monthly premium. You are going to be exposed to a lot of sickness and germs while in nursing school, so it may be wise to look into getting insurance through the open enrollment. One less thing to worry about.

I have insurance but my doctors office is booked till November 30th and the insurance I have is threw the clinic that my doctor is in so I will have to do it out of pocket. It's a lot of money. A whole lot but it is worth it. Thanks RNstudent104 for the information

Try concrentra.. they may be better.

Does any of you know of any agency or career center for Miami Dade residents that would pay some or all of our tuition for BC nursing students? Or perhaps any sort of grants, scholarships or students loans (trying to stay away from private loans) that I can apply too?! Please I really need all the help I can get to pay for my tuition. Financial aid won't cover it. If any of you know of a any sort of help I can get through Miami Dade County please advise me asap!

Have you filled out FASFA? If you have you can apply for scholarships through BC

Yes, I did filled out Fafsa 2015-2016. Do you know* which scholarships are offered through BC and where I can find those?

Scholarships are found on the financial aid website. There is a link.

Can anyone list their CEU courses that they took from ceufast.com? I'm a little confused as some of them has a few selections of the same class and OSHA only have 1 hour when the requirement is 2 hour. Help anyone?

OSHA is only 1 hr. I've been an LPN for many years and osha is 1 hr.
