Broward College Nursing January 2016

Published

Hey everyone, I'm applying to the nursing program for January 2016 at Broward College. I guess this will be the official thread for the January 2016, Broward college nursing students; since no one has made one yet. Who else is applying for this term and what courses do you have remaining to finish pre reqs? I'm currently enrolled in A&P 2 lecture and lab and also a math class which are the last two courses I need to apply. I finish the classes in August yayyy :)

Good luck :)

Process I and II have a lot more on campus lab days since it is your first semester, they needed to get you prepared for the hospital. Now that you've moved on to GIGU you may have on-campus lab for the first week maybe two and then after that it's all hospital. You'll have clinical once a week which will be assigned once the semester starts. So basically you'll have class/clinical only 3 days out of the week. A lot less than what you've gotten used to in Process. Use your time wisely though to study!

yes, in a way it does make it "easier" but im sure there is alot more studying at a higher level involved, so we will need all of that time! thank you for the reply!

GOOD MORNING GUYS! I just wanted to share some info about possible funding for the program. I am attending an orientation at Career Source Broward formerly known as Workforce One. They are giving scholarships to eligible students for up to $ 10,000. But you must attend the orientation to see if you qualify. They are doing the orientations on M&W every week. No appointment needed just walk in before 9:00 a.m. the number is 954- 967-1010 call for more info.. I'll update with my status. Every little bit helps. Especially since many of us may not be able to work while in the program. Good luck guys!!!!

Were you lucky with this application?

First of all, congratulations on making it to GIGU! As the instructors will tell you, if you've made this far, your chances of finishing have gone up significantly. I am at Central campus and I loved GIGU! The instructor is still one of most favorite instructors. Her class is relaxed, her reading lists tell you exactly what to read (page to page, not whole chapters), her PowerPoints were extremely helpful (study them carefully) and her tests are very fair. I was able to get a B in the class. If you have other questions, let me know.

I read the book a few times already. Its crunch time with 2 days left. Is it smart to just slam the slides or is that not enough?

The slides are your best friend. Study them and you should be fine.

Hey Diana, Hope all is well with you! I am a transfer student and just submitted my application. They told me that that I had to wait 30 days after Sept. 15. ugh!! The dreadful wait!! How did your classes go?

I am trying to see if anyone has a copy of the Perry Potter edition on Digital or PDF..... I have the new edition book but I would like a PDF version I can read on my down time at work that is not so obvious like the big book.

They are a nightmare, and if you can, go to another program before you even bother failing at Broward. The completion rate is extremely low. Trust me. My class started with over 100 people, and only 12 made it to GIGU.

Hello everyone! I am doing the complio and have almost finished with all req. but am confused about the titer... Is complio/broward college supposed to give us rx/order for the titer? When I went for the drug test I tried to have titer done then and they said a doctors rx or orders are required to have it done.... Just trying to figure out what to do now.... Will I need to ask my PCP during my annual appointment or get the form from broward college ? Thanks in advance!

Your PCP needs to give it to you.

Does anyone know requirements/guidelines for the scrubs? I know it has to had the broward college logo but what about the brand/style? I went into book store and top fit fine but bottoms were unisex and not fitted at all (looks huge on me) so I am trying to look elsewhere for the scrubs and just have it embroidered. I will be starting Spring 2017 and want to take advantage of black Friday sales if possible xp
