Broward college May 2012

Hi I would like to apply for the generic May 2012 entry nursing program at Broward college. Any one else looking into applying for this program. Let's help each other out in this process. I know it's a bit early but I'm excited !!!:)

Has anyone from Central campus gotten the email about NUR1020??? Can you see the course on blackboard because I can't??

i got the e-mail about the first day..access to blackboard won't be until may 7th at 8am that first morning of class..what i dont understand though is that our email said the 7th edition of perry potter and at orientation they said to get the 8th edition..has anyone heard the real edition were going to be using?

i am little confuse about that deferred seat from some students for the nursing program. i thought bc doesnt have a waiting list. each time everyone has to reapply?, so if some ppl deferred their seat for this august 2012 coming up, does it means there will a limited seat for the other ppl coming in? it got me a little anxious, because i applied for the august with 9pts, and i really want to get in, with all those deferred seat from other ppl, would that take my chance away to start the program in august?

So, I accidentally bought the 8th edition of fundamentals of nursing because I looked at the online booklist. Do you think I can still use it?

You need the 8th edition so you're fine. I will be starting the program in August but will purchase my books soon. I spoke with the Nursing Process professor and she advised me to hold off on purchasing the books till she received the finalized book list. However, she did confirm the Perry Potter 8th edition and just said other changes will be made. Since your classes start Monday whatever the book list the book store has now should be what you need. I was there the other day and received the list. Good luck in the program!!!

Well I'm going to south campus and their book list said 7th, but I'm going to hold off buying it because as you said it might change

Since you are going to South campus it could vary. I would email the Nursing Process professor at South campus expressing your concern and see what she/he advises you to do. This way you don't have to question yourself about it. ;)

I was so excited to start on Monday but my financial aid has yet to be accredited(and pay my for my classes). I am worried that I have to apply again for August. This is really upsetting, anyone else having issues with financial aid?? All they could tell me was that they don't understand why its taking so long. :(

Not to scare you or anything....but didn't they change the "rules" about financial aid for summer semesters??? If you were a full time student for the Fall and Winter terms you are not eligible for financial aid for the summer. I asked if this was true about 2 weeks ago and was told that is the case. I was a full time student during both terms so I know I am not eligible for funding. Were you a full time student during both terms? I had all intentions of starting the program in May till I found out North was no longer available and thank God it worked out that way. I don't know how I would of been able to attend in May with no money. Did the FA dept tell you that you would be receiving funding? They need to get it together if they did because they had plenty of time! Hope it all works out for you!!!

Yes they told me I would be receiving it but they cant put a date on it..usually it only takes 5-10 business days...but I found another way to pay(a miracle) and I will be starting monday...im pretty sure financial aid will reimburse me..and I agree, I should have did the same and waited until August...I've been driving myself crazy lol :)
