I’d love that! I really would love to be part of wonderful study/support group throughout those 18 months

Hey everyone. I graduated from the program last month and I just wanted to say good luck to everyone, and you got this. ?

South campus!

And thank you guys. Honestly I'm a terrible person to come to for tips because I have never been good at studying. ? Personally I liked to read the chapters page-by-page and make my own notes; I did not like to use the powerpoints. Do plenty of practice questions for topics! You think you know something until you get asked a critical thinking question about it, which will be majority of what the tests will consist of (e.g. your patient is lying in bed and suddenly seems to have trouble breathing, what is your priority action?, etc.).

For now I would say practice nursing math, such as dosage calculations using dimensional analysis, converting between units, reconstitution (bolded because that always got me). A lot of people did not pass the first math exam, including me. Not trying to scare anyone of course obviously I'm still here but I would highly recommend practicing that.

Also, if you buy your supplies early practice how to take manual blood pressure, how to listen for the apical heart rate, how to count breaths. Read up on how to do a head to toe physical examination. Coming in knowing all this stuff will save you some stress for your first demonstration, trust me.

Great that is exactly what’s I am doing right now. I currently work as a medical assistant so I’m trying to combine those skills and pick the brains of other nursing students I work with. I got a drug dosage calculator book and I’ve been studying off of that. I’m converting like crazy LOL. I am also watching videos on how to do a proper physical assessment(it is so much to remember). You are so right about dimensional analysis, every nurse on Youtube mentions it and I used it frequently in Chemistry courses I previously took(it is so an amazing technique). Oooo man I hope I’m ready LOL.
