hey to all,
right now i am at a lost for words because i just checked my email with broward college and i was accepted, so i know that others must have received a confirmation. just to confirm it i called and spoke with twanna burnee and she confirmed it. so, good luck to all others who have applied. to be completely honest, i really didn't expect to get accepted since it was a very last minute thing. cheers to me and others for the summer program!!!!!!!! i am in, i am really in.........:yeah:
:yeah:
I know the medical history and physical examination has to be done by an MD, ARNP, PA, or DO, but what about the vaccinations? My reason for questioning this is because I am scheduled to go see my MD and I am also scheduled to go to the health department for the vaccinations, but at the bottom of the paper for the vaccinations it asks for the signature of an MD/DO/ARNP. the person at the health department is an RN and before I go do this next week I don't want to run into a problem with my MD signing that form because the vaccinations were not performed in her office. Thanks to all.
Best, Lex
My sister's friend just got a late acceptance for BCC's summer program several days ago. Initially in Feb she was not accepted, not even for the alternate status. she went out to Central to turn in her ap for the Fall and the lady urged her to check her limited access email first as she said that letters had went out again .
Indeed, when she checked she was accepted and her gpa was 2.9. There is hope yet. I guess alot of people must have deferred.

it says on the physical form, "i certify that the above tests/vaccinations were performed in this office/laboratory or i have reviewed any documentation relative to the student’s immunization record." so, to me, that's saying your md can sign off on it saying he/she reviewed the vaccination documents even if he/she didn't do it. you can always call the health science dept and ask to be sure. i'm having my vaccinations done all over the place, depending on who's cheaper, so i have papers from all different places with my vaccination info. although, i am hoping they accept all my childhood immunizations because they are written on my birth certificate (i was born in ny) but it does include dr's signatures with it, so i'll see. anyway, if they say there is a problem, then i will just sign a waiver saying i refuse the vaccines. i know i have them, so i am safe, and i am not going to get more than i need and get things twice.

A lot of people I know deferred. I only wish I knew you could do that before the app period was up. I would have applied for May and gotten in more than likely, and also deferred. I finished my prereqs in December and I have a 3.57 for them, and now I am worried about getting into the Fall session with that. Im sure they probably have a great deal already in for the Fall.
Oh well....keeping my fingers crossed.
Wow it's been like 6 months since I last posted on this board. I FINALLLYY got accepted into BC!!! I just got a call from admissions who told me to check my email because I had gotten in for May 12th summer semester. Wow! I'm going to have to defer though since I stopped the process of getting all the requirements after they initially denied me. YAAAAY MEEE!!!
In case anyone is still waiting, I deferred my seat this Wednesday at the pre-admission orientation along with about 2 other people so that means there are 3 more seats available. The told us they would be calling people that day to offer them our seats! The lady at the orientation said our group (about 25 people) would all be starting at Central since they still have seats and even with our group there are still seats available...go figure. Since I deferred, I am guaranteed a seat in August and I can chose which campus to attend. I am soo happy and it give me more time to prepare with work and all and get all of my stuff in.
Thanks to all of you ESPECIALLY 2bnurse-1 who kept me encouraged. Good luck to those starting in May...can't wait to hear your feedback!
Hi Everyone,
I already asked this question to someone via PM, but just in case I don't get a response in time...
Does anyone know if we are expected to show up in our uniforms on the first day? I am starting the transition program tomorrow at South campus. We had the choice of registering for either Tuesdays or Wednesdays for clinicals. I chose Wednesdays, but we all received an e-mail to meet Tuesday for the first day. (And we were told to be available for both days anyway.)
I think I read somewhere about one of the campuses only requiring uniforms on certain days, but wasn't sure which one it was. We have orientation at 8 am with the associate dean, and I wasn't sure if I should be in uniform, labcoat, regular clothes, etc.
I have had a lump in my throat ever since Saturday about starting this week. LOL
Thanks.

Hi Danisax,
I am going to Central hopefully. I too was really considering North because of what I have heard, but I dont think I can drive 35 minutes to get there almost everyday. Yeah....I am keeping myself busy but the program and getting accepted and preparing is on my mind a lot.
Well...Good Luck to You!
