Congrats! How exciting! What campus will you be attending? Also, if you wouldn't mind, would you share your program GPA? I was trying to find out what the cutoff was and the woman I spoke to today was very unhelpful and unfriendly. I didn't apply yet, but I know with the last application round being so competitive, I was wondering how competitive it was now. If you'd rather PM that info to me, that's ok, or if you're just no comfortable sharing, thats ok, too.
Congrats again!

Congrats! Yes, do you mind sharing what your GPA was and which classes you have completed that pertains to the ADN degree over and beyond the pre-reqs?
Thanks.
Thanks, it's greatly appreciated! Now in regards to your questions; I will be attending the North Campus as I was told that the summer program is only offered at that particular campus. My program gpa was a 3.3 and I have taken all of the pre-reqs that's required, even my general education requirements especially since I was very indecisive on what school I wanted to attend. Microbiology with lab, Anatomy and Physiology I and II with labs, Chemistry with lab, English Comp I and II, Human Growth and Development, Nutrition, Sociology, and Psychology just to name some. Also, I was exempt from the HCP course that they required you to have. I haven't even gotten a chance to speak with anyone from the campus besides Twanna to confirm my acceptance, so I have no idea how competitive it was, but I can tell you when I turned in my application there were many others turning in theirs as well. I wonder how many others were accepted. Well, anymore questions feel free!!!
Best, Lex :nuke:

If you're trying to figure out how competitive the program is, you may want to ask how many points did she have. There are certain factors such as 5 points for HOSA, 1 point for Broward Residents that can allow someone to get in with a lower gpa. For example, the Jan '09 class was very competitive. However, I know a student who got in with less than a 3.0 because of the HOSA and Broward resident points. Others with higher gpa's were declined.
:yeahthat:
So Lex, how many points did you have?:wink2:
Leavingteaching....
Since she is starting the program during the first summer, will she have half of the summer off like the January and August programs do during their first summers?

NO! Her schedule will be alittle different. She will have half of her second summer off and her first semester will be an extra special type of H*LL! But many have survived it! :bowingpur

YIKES! I forgot for a second about summer being only 12 weeks long. Man, kudos to those having to do Nursing process in 6 weeks!
Well, we just checked my sis's email and she got in! she had 7pts and she made it. I don't think that this semester was as competitive as Jan's class. So those of you with lower gpa's there is hope especially if you have completed Micro and lab and other general ed classes.
Thanks Lex!
So now, I have 2 sisters in the RN program at BC, 1 right behind the other.
Wow, that's great news. Especially for those who didn't get in for January with under a 3.4.
