Broward College Acceptance

Published

hey to all,

right now i am at a lost for words because i just checked my email with broward college and i was accepted, so i know that others must have received a confirmation. just to confirm it i called and spoke with twanna burnee and she confirmed it. so, good luck to all others who have applied. to be completely honest, i really didn't expect to get accepted since it was a very last minute thing. cheers to me and others for the summer program!!!!!!!! i am in, i am really in.........:yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah:

hey honeybee thx for posting, my friend was amongst your group also.

question, will you be starting in the 2nd semester? im thinking you guys will skip the Process semester and begin at the following. am i right?

To be honest, I'm not sure. LOL I don't remember them specifically mentioning when we merge with the generic class. Right now I have South and Central's schedule. Twana is going to e-mail North's to us. That way people can have the information for each campus when they register. This is the one for south where I plan on attending.

South

Monday-

Nursing 1: 9am to 11:50am

Pharmacology: 1pm to 3:30pm

Tuesday OR Wednesday-

Nursing 1 Lab: 6:30am to 6:30pm

Thursday-

Nursing 1: 9am to 11:50am

Math on 5/14 and 5/21: 1pm to 4pm

Friday-

Math on 5/15 and 5/22: 10am to 3pm

At the bottom of the schedule it says June to August 2009, OFF. Twana said that is true, with the exception of Pharmacology, which runs through to August. Central's schedule actually shows two clinical days, and I think it's because they start them later than south.

And even though we all start in May, each campus packet is due at different times. For south we have to have them in by April 10th at noon. Whereas north usually turns theirs in on the first day of class (per Twawna).

I know that doesn't really answer your question. :chuckle But I'm just trying to give you an idea of when we start again. I'll be sure to post any updates as they come.

Do you guys know in order to ''apply'' (not getting accepted) just apply for the BCC RN basic program, do you need to complete or have taken the HSC course? (Intro to healthcare field)

Thanks for the advice!!

Hi Everyone! I am getting so nervous to start in May. So many people keep telling me that my gpa is going to get shocked. Somebody give me some hope here. I want to go on to a graduate program and would like to know if it is that hard to at least get B's. Anyway, I am taking pharm on-line and I am so stressed about it (passing so far). Have not had anytime to do the CEU's, drug test, physical, etc... Does anyone know where I can take the CPR class? Very stressed and trying to hang in there.

What city to do live, so we can point you to a CPR location closer to your home? Great job in pharm class...i should have taken the online instead. Im with Marshall on ground and im not doing soo good :( but I plan to kick butt for the 3 remainding exams.

Hi Everyone,

This is my first post here. I can't tell you what a great place this is with SO Much info. Thank you all! Anyway,

I have a question. I have submitted my application for the August Generic Session. I have completed everything I possibly can before the program starts, with the exception of Micro, which I am taking now and will be done in April. Well...although I have not been accepted yet, I would LOVE to take Pharmacology over the summer. My gpa is 3.57 for my prereqs, and I am pretty confident I will get in. I hope! Anyway, does anyone know if they have ever approved someone not accepted yet to take Pharm? Thanks for your help!!

Actually, they will not let you take pharm until your first semester in the program, so you don't have to worry about not taking it and getting in. All the pharm classes I saw for the summer had the nursing designation on them, so if you try to register, it won't allow you to (I tried because I wanted to see if I could take it over the summer, too).

Also, you should have no problems getting in with that GPA. I was told at the nursing pre-admission meeting the cutoff for Jan was around 3.2-3.3, so you should be good. As long as I keep my A's this semester, I'll have a 3.57 as well at the end of this semester. I'm not sure if I am applying to Aug or Jan yet, though.

Good luck.

Oh by the way, what campus are you planning on attending for the program, and what campus are you taking Micro at now?

What a bummer. It would be nice to get Pharm out of the way. Right now I am taking Micro at Central, which is where I will most likely attend for the program. I'm still on the fence a bit because I have heard a lot of great things about the North Campus. I went to the pre-admit info session at North and they really seemed nice and helpful.

Good Luck to you too!

Check with Central Campus. You may be able to take pharm in a traditional or online class at central campus. If not, you can take it at PBCC and transfer it in.

You can take Pharmacy at Palm beach Community College. It will xfer but you may want to confirm with Bcc

Dizzy-

Were you at the pre-admit mtg on 3/13? Thats the one I went to.

Leaving-

As far as taking the class at Central, all the classes have that nursing designator, so who should we talk to at Central to see if we can get in? Advisor? Registration?
