Broward College RN Program Winter Jan 2010
Future BCC 2010 spring applicants: Did you get your classes / transcripts evaluated? Do you know your application score yet? I don't have my official ''score'' yet.. has anyone gotten theirs yet? I applied about 1 month ago and they haven't evaluated my classes yet.. It's driving me crazy.. Thanks!

Broward College RN Program Winter Jan 2010
Also hope this helps too: Advisor told me that they DON'T look at your overall acummulative GPA; your GPA is calculated ONLY from the pre-requisite classes. In addition, they don't care if you repeated, or had to retake sciences again as long as you ended up with a good grade. Good luck all!! :)

Broward College RN Program Winter Jan 2010
Hope this helps future BCC'ers for Dade county residents: If you're currently attending MDC and need to take the HCP0130 class , you can take it at MDC as well. The class that you need is ''HSC 0003: Introduction to Healthcare'' Keep in mind that this class is NOT counted towards the GPA calculation but you still need a passing grade. Is a typical class with 4 , 75 question tests; talks about the different roles of the medical field, and safety protocols, procedures that you can do in the healthcare setting, along with basic anatomy/physiology. In my class we had to write a paper related to a career in the healthcare field and do a presentation as well. Hope this helps.

Broward College RN Program Winter Jan 2010
I applied to the Jan program but I my grades have not been evaluated yet. But doing the math and plugging in the numbers i have 16 points without HOSA and w/o being a broward resident. The bcc advisor told me that last semester the gpa average for acceptance was 3.1 for broward residents and 3.2 for out of county. Which is think is really really easy compared to dade county which last semester the cut off gpa was 3.81 accumulative gpa. Good luck to everyone. I applied to the South Campus, lets all hope for the best!

Applying to BCC Jan 2009
I'm waiting for my MDC semester to end July 31st before applying to have my GPA at it's highest. See you all in South Campus if we get accepted!

Programs with different pre-reqs, do you try to take them all??
I'm applying at 2 community colleges and 2 universities; What i did i made an excel spreadsheet with all the common classes and all the extra classes that I would need for each institution. So far it's only taking me 1 additional semester to finish the remaining classes and the way I see it those extra classes are helping my current GPA as well. Don't put all your eggs in one basket! :) Good luck!

BCC & HCP0130 (Health Career Core)
Good evening everyone, When applying for the program at Broward CC. Do you need to complete HCP0130 (Health Career Core) (75.0 Contact Hours) BEFORE getting a letter of acceptance to the program? I'm transferring from Miami Dade College, and I was wondering if I can apply to the program and then take the class. Or do i have to take HCP0130 before applying? Thank you in advance

Broward College Acceptance
Do you guys know in order to ''apply'' (not getting accepted) just apply for the BCC RN basic program, do you need to complete or have taken the HSC course? (Intro to healthcare field) Thanks for the advice!!

LPN program @ Miami Lakes Tech
Although I've never been there, I work at an Urgent care in Miami Lakes, and all the nurses that work there say pretty good things about MLT. They say is one of the better LPN schools there along with Hopkins and Mercy! Good luck!!
