Broward College Acceptance

Published

hey to all,

right now i am at a lost for words because i just checked my email with broward college and i was accepted, so i know that others must have received a confirmation. just to confirm it i called and spoke with twanna burnee and she confirmed it. so, good luck to all others who have applied. to be completely honest, i really didn't expect to get accepted since it was a very last minute thing. cheers to me and others for the summer program!!!!!!!! i am in, i am really in.........:yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah:

I will ask tonight, however, I know that BCC took her certificate and that it had more areas that was required from BCC for less money.

Specializes in ED.

Thanks. Yeah, mine does, too. It has all the CAE's that BC requires but are added into one class. The class was like $219 for everything, and just the health career core class alone at BC is $260, and thats not even including the books. I saved a ton of money taking it at Sheridan.

Thanks again.

I registered for classes thing mrng (feels good btw). How about the website crash, I guessed so many ppl like myself were logging on all at the same time. I woke up at 7.10 got dressed and waited for 8.00 to strike (im crazy right, i know i know---Im just excited about taking the next step towards my dream)

The registration was succesful.

I registered for a total of 6 classes. Did you know the Process 1 class is only gonna have 106 students---imo its way better than the 300+ that they usually admit.

Lets hope it will a light and smooth semester. Im already gearing up.

Where is everyone else that is starting with me, I dont see you guys posted since you got accepted? whats up with that lol!

2Bnurse, Congrats!!

I know the feeling. I registered yesterday for Cardio and Trends, which is the last semester. I'm quite excited about approaching the finish line. Good Luck in Process I!

heeeeeyyyyy:chuckle, i have posted :icon_roll, acceptance was a long time ago imo, :lol2:lol. anyway, i registered as well and i wasn't able to register for nursing process ii because it was restricted, well no one for that matter. however, i immediately contacted twanna and she fixed the problem and stated she received a million emails in regards. well, what day are you taking your math class?

Bmlex, my math class will be on Friday 1-5. i figured since im already there on friday in the mrng just take the math then, and have all day Thursday off:)

Im one of those ppl who emailed her haha.

Did you get all the requirements from the folder packet completed? I have 2 CEU's left and i'm done

Hey Newgoal, how are you doing today?

Hi 2bnurse1, I'm good. I see you're bright and cheery. I'm looking forward to doing my Nutrition exam today for my online class (not!). spring break has begun for us today through next weekend, yah!

I plan to relax and get a jump on my upcoming Micro test. I see that you are looking forward to starting in May. You have to keep us posted. Who did you register for for Pharmacy? Central and did you get the male teacher?

i chose the friday class as well from 1pm-4:50pm. i figured i can use all day thursday for studying, the lab, or just plain relaxing. as for the ceu's, i have completed the domestic and the medical errors, nonetheless, i now have four more to complete. my bls is scheduled for the 27th of april and i figured within the next couple of weeks i will finish up the other three. where did you complete your aids/hiv ceu?

newgoal, i registered for pharm (but with gods grace I AM GOING TO PASS IT AT PBCC) so i will eventually ending up dropping it. but she said we all had to register for it until our transcripts get to them.

bmlex, i didnt do my AID/HIV yet. there is a school by me that does it for $35...ive been waiting maybe, i can find it for less. where are you getting yours done?

Hi Everyone,

Just checking in. Today I had my orientation for the LPN to RN transition class for May. Over a hundred people attended (they only expected in the 70's). It only lasted about 2 hrs and 15 min. They said originally they were only going to offer this class at South campus, but had enough applicants to do all three campuses. However, South will still have the most seats available.

They also said that there is no instructor for on-line lectures in the summer. But they are looking into having those who are interested, switch over to on-line come October.

I have been to all three campuses and really had my heart set on North, but it's approximately 40 miles (roundtrip) further away from me than South. So it just makes sense for me to try to get a spot at South.

Our registration starts on March 19th until March 26th. I will be just like 2bnurse, waiting to pounce on it, 8 am sharp. :chuckle I have at-home training for work at 11am that same day, so I want to be sure I can get what I want.

According to South's schedule, it doesn't look like I will get away with staying at my current job during the course, because they require at least 24 hours to stay on part-time. So I will have to make some changes, and possibly even pick up a few shifts a month with an agency, which I really didn't want to do. But other than that, I'm excited and happy that I am FINALLY getting this done. I know it won't be easy and I am thankful that I have you all as a resource here. I'm scared too, but ready for the challenge!

It was funny because at one point, Twana was talking about whether or not we could work while in the program. She went through this whole deal, where it showed we'd be going to class or studying over a hundred hours a week, or something to that effect. (I'm sure most of you have already heard this when you went through orientation.) But she basically said that it was like working 2 full time jobs AND 1 part time. LOL

Then she asked, "So how much time will you have to go to the beach?" We all answered, "None."

Twana: "To party?"

Class: "None."

Twana: "To hang out with friends?"

Class: "None."

Twana: "For your spouses?"

Class: "None."

Twana: "And for your kids?"

Class: "None."

Everyone started looking at each other and cracking up. Anyway, I'm sure I will be on here asking more questions during the registration process. Again, thanks to everyone for all of your help. :thankya:
