Hey Guys! Thought I'd start a forum for those applying for Spring 2019 of the
Brookhaven nursing program. I still have to do the Critical Thinking exam, dosage calc class, Hesi! Can't wait to talk to you guys as we apply!!
I'm still getting an error message when I try to looking up the Brookhaven Nursing information on the DCCCD website. Once I can access the instructions on how to enroll in the Dosage and Cal Workshop, I will post it in this thread. The workshop is 10 weeks long, self paced with 3 meeting times (Last time the workshop was open the meeting times were 10am-2pm on 3 Saturdays). From what I've seen posted about it, the meetings are not required but available if you have questions. You have to take the test by the last day of the course and pass with a 90%.
Can anyone offer any insight on getting the Immunizations Form completed? I have my titer results from my Primacy Care Physicians office printed from their office. Do I bring that paperwork and a blank Immunization Form from the Brookhaven Nursing websites to the Brookhaven school nurse and let her fill it out and sign? Or should I have my PCP's office complete it and then bring it to the Brookhaven nurse to sign it? Thank you all so much!
You will need to take your shot records and the form to the Brookhaven nurse (Ms. Mildred Kelley, RN). She is located near the testing center in room S072.
Hey guys, I'm confused about the dosage cal workshop. It says its not offering any courses this Fall at Dcccd. is the workshop a 1 day class and you test at the end? Can you guys tell me more about it? Thanks.
Per the syllabus; "This is a self-paced, self-taught course. The student will go thru the required textbook. Once they have gone through the required text book, the student will need to pass one of the three final exams at 90% or greater in order to receive credit for this course. If the student is unable to pass one of the three final exams at 90% or greater, the student will need to wait four months to take the course and its exams again."
Two classes/exam dates have already passed. The final attempt to pass the class will be on September 15, 2018: 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (Room X1091).
I am excited to be applying for the spring 2019 start! I will be taking the Critical thinking exam next week and HESI on Sept 17.Any advice on preparing for Critical Thinking exam?
What study materials did everyone use for HESIA2 prep.
I'm taking the CT exam next week too! To study for the HESI, I used the Elsevier HESI A2 Prep 4th Edition - I got it on Amazon. and I used the Pocket Prep HESI A2 app from the apple store. It was $12 to unlock all the features and over 1000 questions. The app has all the subjects and you can build your own exam. It also has great rationals for the correct answer so you can see why you missed the question.
