Brookhaven Spring 2019

Published

Hey Guys! Thought I'd start a forum for those applying for Spring 2019 of the

Brookhaven nursing program. I still have to do the Critical Thinking exam, dosage calc class, Hesi! Can't wait to talk to you guys as we apply!!

Thanks! I'm taking pharmacology this semester through MVC using Lehne's Pharmacology for Nursing Care - is that the book you studied out of for the Dosage and Calc test? and what does BBC stand for? Sorry :) Thanks for the info, Nikki! Congrats on your test!!!

Sorry BBS was a typo. I meant BlackBoard (BB) Yes, that was the book. But is was not in the book but on the study modules online for that section, which I think is Unit 2. You are welcome and thanks. Good luck on your test!

Yes I have but will be retaking it in September at Brookhaven.

thank you I hope I pass

There has to be some way to study or at least prepare for the critical thinking exam, right? Should I just start researching ethical quandaries a nurse might have in the work place?

For those that need to take the HESI, scheduling opens up tomorrow (Aug 28). The test dates will be available Sep 4-21. You'll need the following form:

Can I call to schedule the HESI or do I have to personally go to the testing center to schedule?

It's my understanding that you must physically go in to schedule the test. The first step is paying for the test at the cashier in Bldg S, then you must take the receipt to the testing center to show proof of payment, then you will be able to schedule your test.

Thank you dmyre for your help

Has anyone enrolled in the CT exam on blackboard? If so, if you click on the exam tab there is an Exam A available. Do we have to take that online or do we have to take that exam at the testing center?

I had to take it in the testing center. Since it's only available during the same short window as the HESI, I'm confident that is the only option.

Heads up... The fee to schedule the HESI is actually $42, instead of the $40 that is listed on the form.

You've already taken the critical thinking exam? If you don't mind me asking, was it difficult? Or was the description of the exam having to do with ethics/nursing fairly accurate?
