Brookhaven Spring 09

Anyone out there applying for the Spring 2009?

I'm applying for the second time. I applied last time to get the three extra points and this time I'll go crazy if I don't get in. -lol- I didn't expect to get in b/c I only had 20 points. Now, they decided to bring back the interviews! I'm scared to death of it, but all I can do is pray that they can see how bad I want this.

Anyways, just wanted to see if there was anybody else out there!

I'm applying for the spring as well.. Doubt I get in this semester but I'll really need the three points for the fall. I'm sure you'll get in this time around.

I sure hope so! You may be surprised & get an interview since they're taking the best 60. We just gotta hang in there. :-) Good luck!

Turning in my application next week for spring '09.

And taking the hesi for the first time on Monday.

How is everyone turning in their application? I heard not to put it into a folder of any kind and to just use a paper clip. But that sounds insane to me.

i followed the instructions on the website & ms. cortez didn't say anything to me. she looked at the application to be sure everything was there & put it back in the folder when she was done.

this is what the site says:

place the above materials in a 9" x 12" envelope for submission either in person or by mail. the envelope must be received in the nursing admissions office at brookhaven college or mountain view college by the deadline found on the admissions timelines/deadlines web page. if mailed, please send it return receipt requested for your records.

good luck on your hesi test!

Good luck to you as well for getting in this spring.

How many points do you have if you don't mind me asking?

And I'm sure it would all be speculation, but have you heard what the "cutoff mark" is for the points this semester?

Thanks!

I have 31.65 I believe. I always forget the last two numbers. -lol- I doubt they know the cutoff mark for the spring yet since applications are still being accepted. Last semester the lowest I heard was 27 point something. You never know though. :-) I'm praying I have enough. I took the HESI as a practice last semester & was like this is pretty decent...better keep it. -lol- I can't risk getting a lower score by retaking it.

Did you have end of life issues or patho this last spring semester by any chance? Maybe I know you.

I took End of Life @ BHC this past summer & I took Patho last spring at Mountain View.

Have you finished all of your support courses?

Yep. All finished. I didn't take chemistry until last semester, so i couldn't apply for this fall semester back then. Dumb mistake. :stone

I would have kicked myself. -lol- We live...we learn. :) When is you HESI scheduled?

Just took it this afternoon.

I got a 88.7. The advisor said that was pretty good, but I felt like it was a pretty average score. :(

So I should have 29 points when I apply.

I hope we get to start at the same time. :D

I know how you feel. I got an 88 point something as well. I just didn't want to chance taking it again this semester. I hope we do get in at the same time! Now the waiting game begins! I want my interview so bad, but am scared about it! -lol-
