Anyone out there applying for the Spring 2009?
I'm applying for the second time. I applied last time to get the three extra points and this time I'll go crazy if I don't get in. -lol- I didn't expect to get in b/c I only had 20 points. Now, they decided to bring back the interviews! I'm scared to death of it, but all I can do is pray that they can see how bad I want this.
Anyways, just wanted to see if there was anybody else out there!
hey future rn's,
i know exactly the feeling that you all are having right now. i finished up this august at bh but have not yet taken my nclex...studying!
anyway...just wanted to tell you that if you go to the original thread that was started for bh, you will find that several of us still go on to that thread and would be most happy to chime in from time to time and offer support to you. plus it keeps everyone all together to build that family feeling.
points (forget about 'em), like one of you stated they won't know the point range until the last minute. be thankful for the interview. it is a wonderful opportunity to show them confidence, maturity and willingness to adapt to just about anything. honestly, we had some students get in with low 20's because they were able to show that they were right for the program in the interview. there are people with 4.0 gpa's that would not do well in nursing school, it takes just the right person to be a nurse. let them see "that" person, and show them with confidence.
this is a wonderful journey and i wish you all the best of luck!

I just submitted my application today. I only have 25.90 points and I'm currently taking Pharm & Dosages, so I just wanted the 3 review points. I'm stressed out about the interview as well!!!
Good Luck to you all!!!

how exactly is the interview set up? is it just a one on one thing? or are there going to be 4-5 people drilling me with questions? typical job interview type questions? or are they more open ended?
sorry for all the questions. couldn't help myself. :typing
Hey guys,
I applied last spring, and started the program Aug 25th. I am now in my 7th week. I remember being just where you are, and then the long wait. I had most of summer to get used to the idea of being accepted, and get everything together.
My advice is if you even think you might get in make sure you have all the shots the websites says you need. You will not have time to complete them if you wait until you are accepted. In addition start saving money now. You will need a background check, drug test, embroidered scrubs, shoes, nude underthings, laptop, rolling backpack, medical insurance, Liability Insurance, testing fees, lab manuals, about $900 in books, medical supplies, stethoscope, BP cuff, and most of it you will need before financial aid kicks in. I was shocked !!!!
I hope to see you guys next semester.

You don't mean I NEED a laptop do you?
It is not a must to have one, but we found it really is almost impossible not to. We bought almost all of our books for the year at one time. It ended up being two boxes full, and we will need about 4 more before the end of the program. In all there are like 13 books in the boxed set which comes with a program to load them all into the computer. You can access all the books, highlight, take notes, and jump from one book to the another with the click of the mouse. You can also share notes with members of your study group by adjusting your settings. This allows you to take your laptop, lab manual, and maybe your drug book without having to drag all the other 13 books to class everyday. We actually had a man come in during success camp and show us how to set it all up. A good majority of the students in my class ended up buying a laptop if they didn't have one. It just makes sense because if the instructor says turn to page XXX in a certain book...you just click and your there, and your not searching through books, finding the right page, and finding out shes already moved on to something else.
