Brookhaven Nursing applicants - Spring 2018

This is a forum for anyone applying to Brookhaven college ADN program for Spring 2018.What tips can you offer? Any challenges? How was the dosage calculation exam? Any tips for the critical thinking exam and the interview? How many points are you applying with?

Thank you! I hope you are right. Brookhaven is my second choice. I applied last minute. My first choice sent my a waitlisted notification, so we shall see. I just need to get in somewhere. I'm old í ½í¸‚

I agree, an application with 39 points is practically guaranteed for an interview. I hope you get your first choice! Good luck!!

I am old too.I already got accepted into a BSN program but it is expensive and I am thinking if I get into Brookhaven,I would apply for their Bachelor program with El Paso.I am just tired of turning around myself and waiting for pre requisites to get done.

I agree with you on the expensive thing. I really wonder how hectic the bride programs are in regards to transitioning. I would love to get some insight from a student that has done the ADN- BSN program or and advisor.

Does anyone have info on interview questions? Or the professional wringing Sample. I have stage fright really bad.

Basic interview questions are asked. They are group interviews with about 4 different instructors interviewing you in groups of about 5. The career services center at BHC does mock interviews which helped me both in the program interview and helped me land my first nursing job so I highly recommend it. Also, do it sooner rather than later so you have time to practice. Best of luck!!

Well tomorrow at noon is the last day to submit point disputes. Then hopefully by end of Monday we will know if we get an interview. I see they accept 50 interviews for Spring semester. I wonder how many people applied and how many are accepted into the program??

I don't remember exactly what the writing sample was because that was almost two years ago, but I want to say it was something along the lines of describing qualities you think a nurse should have and how you can incorporate those into your practice. It is very possible that I'm totally wrong or they've completely changed it.

I think it is on the 20th which is on Friday that we will be receiving the interview emails. And it is not on Monday

Yes I know per the timeline we are to get notified on the 20th next Friday. I was just getting my hopes up based on the last two cycles of applicants and the fact that they got their interview notifications the Monday following the points dispute deadline.
