Brookhaven Fall 2019

Published

Anyone applying for Fall 2019? I know it seems far away, but the application is due the end of Feb. It is best we begin to prepare now, especially those who need immunizations.

I need:

Critical thinking exam.

Retake Hesi for a higher competitive score.

Dosage calculations workshop.

I'm taking Chem 1405 and Phil 2306 this fall and Pharma in winter.

I do understanding wanting to get it out of the way before Nursing school.. but it says you can choose between the two.... meaning.. You really only have to take ONE for the program.. the other is an Option to take.. so why stress by taking both??? other then the benefit for extra points on an application.

Get what I'm saying? How is someone saying it added stress to their schedule if they took one and not the other? It's optional.. if they had taken ONE before nursing school.. they wouldn't have to take the other one anyways.. so how is that adding to the stress of nursing school?

I applied to several schools that why I took both.

Hi everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself. I applied for the Fall and have my interview on Tuesday. I currently work at Parkland hospital in the OR. Look forward to talking & getting to know each of you!

What do you do in the OR at Parkland? I’ve found it to be so difficult to get a job in a hospital unless you know someone and I have healthcare experience too!

Hey y’all! I applied for the upcoming Fall 2019 semester as well and I did receive an interview invitation email. I was wondering if anyone knew how to prepare for the interview? I applied with 31 points and I’m scheduled to come in to interview on Monday at 10:00 AM, nervous is an UNDERSTATEMENT lol

Specializes in Inpatient Pharmacy.

Thanks for the info guys! I actually decided to try collin college. I work for Medical City McKinney and they have a Texas two step program affiliated with Collin college and the class hours are very doable with my work schedule. I really like the program from what I’m hearing so far.

You can schedule a mock interview at the career development center. Look up the STAR method for answering interview questions - it’s very helpful.

I saw that someone recently created a post for those who are doing the Texas Two-Step through HCA/Collin County. Have you looked at that one yet?

Oh no, I’m assuming they pay much better. I used to be a CNA for 6 years before I became a pharmacy tech so I know how it is lol. I started at Methodist Richardson but I came to medical city. It’s so much better for me here. I’m still at MRMC but only PRN.

UT pays way better than Med City Dallas did. They offer extra money for coming in whereas med city stopped doing a few years ago. Yeah I was working ft then I went prn @ med city dallas and ft at ut but I couldn't hold both down (found I was pregnant shortly thereafter) so it was better to have one job lol. I've been here ever since. Now that I'm on my dream floor (mother/baby-postpartum), I'm gonna stay ?.
