Hi all! I thought I would start a new thread for all the people who got in Brookhaven's Fall 2010 program. I figured the people who did not get in would not want to see our posts anymore.
I did want to let you all know that I asked my friend that is first semester at Brookhaven, and she said that the scrubs they wear for clinical rounds are hunter green. They have to be embroidered on the back "brookhaven college" and the front has to have your name. Apparently there is a special order form that will be sent to us by ***. She suggests that you get 2 pairs when *** sends the order form, becasue she only got one, and she is now ordering an extra pair. She also said that she bought some other scrubs (all different colors) to wear when she is at school, because it is easier to work in. *** will e-mail us about all this but thought I would clue you in on what I know.
Anyone else got any news? LOL
Can't wait to meet you all (if I have not already)
Thank you SO MUCH Chelsea3213 & Jm2011 for sharing information!! VERY sweet of you to take the time to post!
Reguarding the lottery for schedules, I am confused on that. Is it for clinical schedules and classes on campus? How does picking the hospitals work? Do they only allow so many people to a hospital? Thanks again for all the info!!!
Hey everyone! Congrats to those who have been accepted into the program!!
I am just starting out my pre-reqs for the program and I just moved to the Dallas area from Arizona so I have a few questions about some of the classes at Brookhaven:
What is the different between the two A&P courses they offer (BIOL 2401 and SCIT 1407)? Is there any major differences?
Do you guys have any recommendations for instructors in A&P, Chemestry and Micro (of course only give me names through the PM system)?
When can you register/look up classes for the FALL 2010 semester?
Do you recommend taking A&P2, Micro, Develop Psych and End of Life before the program or would it be okay to take it during nursing school?
Thanks everyone!
Hi Briterz..This is Shabana. You just reminded me my old days when I was starting my school back in Fall 2008. I also had tons of questions, but I didn't have anyone to answer those. I don't have my 15 posts yet, so I will not be able to send you PM right now. I have the answers of every question that you have.
Hi Briterz! You've joined a great post! Like Shabana, I don't have enough posts to send a PM. I just want to offer you encouragement to stick with your dream, and make it happen! BHC is a great college, and is known for their Nursing Program. Have you been to the new Allied Health Center they just completed? If not, I encourage you to check it out. First class all the way! My advice to you right now would be to take all of your required core subjects, and then take all of the support classes. Try to knock them all out before being in the Program. I start the Program in the fall, so no, I am not speaking from "experience" but that was my approach and I am happy to have as much done as possible. Hang in there, and good luck!
