I am hoping to be part of the Brookhaven College Spring 2017 Nursing Class and I want to start a new thread where other potential students can communicate with one another. I am almost done with my pre-requisites. Currently I am working on getting Chemistry and Ethics out of the way. I plan on taking nursing pathophysiology this summer if it is offered.
Any one have any suggestions on how to prepare for the HESI A2? I am also interested in any advice that can help me with my dosage class. I am very nervous about the dosage course since the test must be passed with a 90%. Good luck everyone!
I just recently took the Dosage Calculation Exam and I made a 95%. I studied from the library a dosag calculation book they had and also used information from a pharmacy technician book I used in school. They all really helped but the most came from printing those study guides that are under the dosage calculation review. Those really helped me. I was scared to test being I had only two shots at it. Just don't overthink, stay calm, don't cram and you will do fine. Math isn't my subject but I prayed and studied without overdoing it and I passed. So good luck to everyone with the last exam Sept. 10. ðŸ™ðŸ˜€
Hi everyone, I concern that how many questions in each section of Hesi test, and all of the sections will be tested separately or all together. Does someone know it? Thank you.
Questions vary each section 25-55 I've heard. The sections are graded individually but you get a total comprehensive score of all sections at the end. Brookhaven looks at total. Some schools look at individuals. Depends on school.
Hi all! I decided to pop in now that the excitement is building, and we're quickly approaching the application deadline!!
How's everyone feeling? Me - I've finished putting the final touches on my application... just a *little* anxious. :) I took all of my pre-reqs and support courses one at a time, so it's awesome to finally be here with ya'll as a potential.
I took the CT exam today, and honestly, some of the questions were a little challenging IMO. (Received a 9.9 overall.) I felt as though there were some questions I'd only know if I had at least a bit of experience as a nurse beforehand... anyone else agree? Oh well, onward and upwards.
As for the DC exam... for those who are winging it on the last date, I'll echo sentiments from Marilynrobinson27 - I'm not great with math, but scored 99%. Just stick to the basics and you'll do fine.
Welcome TerraElizabeth!! I'm happy to hear I'm not the only one that has anxiously filled out the application already! í ½í¹ˆ I agree the CT exam did have many questions that one could only know if already in the field. Have you calculated how many points you will be applying with? I wish we were applying for the fall program so our chances of getting in were greater since they accept more during that time.
LunaBell1, if I've calculated everything correctly, I'll be applying with 37.44 points. It seems like they used to accept more in the fall, but now the website says around 50 students each semester. Maybe they do that now to leave wiggle room for the semesters they have lots of stellar (or.. not so great) applicants.

Yes I've taken both at classes. 90 would put me at approx 38 pts.
