i also have a letter of offer from murdoch university in perth (under nmbwa) and they're giving me until june to decide if i'll enroll for the year-long conversion program. it's super expensive so i'm making it my last choice/last resort.
don't give up on your dream! these obstacles will just make our dreams so much sweeter once we get it. if you feel like giving up again, just pm me or whatever and i'll rub off some hope on you :)
hey, wahine..you already have your nmbwa letter? why dont you use that for your vchn application? vchn is also an accredited nmbwa provider of bridging courses..the only difference is that if you use your nmbwa letter, you will take the 4 weeks theoreticals in melbourne and then go to perth for the clinical placement... just a thought.
@wahine888
I have the same queries as lime12: "thanks.. how did you do your application through email or post mail? if it is email did you do the certified true copies or just the original and you attach it to your email? whats the format of your scan documents jpeg or pdf? thanks a lot. coz im planning to send mine today if it is ok for email and just the original coz certified true copy here in UK is very expensive. how did you do with the applicaton form you print it and you fil it up then you scan the completed application form and attach it to your email? is that right? thanks a lot... have you use your NMBWA letter fo VCHN? i thought you have that already or you prefer NBV? thanks.."
what you did is in fact clever... im planning to do the same.
@NewMac I believe you have to have your documents certified. You can find the application forms of some schools online and then fill it up and send it along with your scanned certified documents. Still however, some schools would still require you to submit to them hard copies of the same when they already confirmed your application with them.
The advantage of applying before you get your NBV approval is that you get to prepare already all your documents and know what else they would require from you. And perhaps save a week or two of waiting time if you're in a hurry to get into a school as you only need to provide them your NBV letter. What I have noticed is that, as long as you have all the necessary requirements, schools wouldn't take that long to respond. The only reason mine took a while was because the same admission's officer was the one handling admissions of regular students and she had her hands full then for the opening of classes.
Good luck. I'm sure your NBV approval letter will be within your grasp very soon.
@NewMac
hey dude. i already sent my application to murdoch and VCHN. in VCHN, through email, i just scanned my original documents and attached it to my email as jpeg format as well as the completed application form. i did the same thing as wahine888 and drednag did. for now im just waiting for their call and after a week if i dont receive a call from them i will call them. i think by that time you can reserve a slot from them. afterwards you will still send them the application form and certified true copies of your documents through post mail and i think that is for enrolment.. and i hope everythng will goes well. Goodluck to us..
i have copies of the documents i sent to nbv (both in soft & hard copies) will those work?
hey bro...those will work...as long as you comply with all the requirements provided in the checklist...the checklist is included in the application form...then submit also your tor and rle..when all those are complied with, you are good to go...hey, bro we might be batchmates after all..
hi, ill try to anwer your questions, i think wa doesnt require work experience, but the hospitals that you will applying for the bp that require at least 1 year experience.same wih qnc, they dont require work experience per se, but the assessment is case to case basis.
you can go ahead and apply to your board of choice, as long as your requirements are complete, just follow the registration procedures. anmc doesnt have anything to do with the registration. good luck.
please read my posts. i am an industry consultant and and have close associations with reg. migration agents.
anmc is really not relevant; its a bureaucratic 'overkill' given that it does not register anyone. out confused federal and state government system creates such confusions.
all states will seek nurses with experience, especially since, in the wa situation very high quantities of rns would seek to get on the well-costed ramsay bridging course ($a1,100 for 10 weeks !) if there was not an 'experience' requirement. remember, australia has a very high nursing and health professional standard and virtually all phil. rns will need a bridging course, some exceptions do exist, but they would be rare.
effective 1 july, 2010 there is one national registration system to be introduced, and in theory, at least, that should mean all state nursing boards will operate under the same standards. this will remove the need to ask "oh, wa is faster, better than qld or nsw" or similar.
wa nurses board says as follows: "
registration process for internationally qualified applicants
please note:
if you are required to undertake a 'registration bridging program', please be aware that current availability of courses may be limited. "
they are saying "there are limited overseas places at the moment". this is because of local politics, cutbacks in nurse numbers, etc. only for the current year.
most other states have a similarly confusing array of forms and procedures to comply with, only to often find you will need to complete a bridging course.
under those circumstances it is almost better to present your transcript of qualifications to a reg. australian migration agent such as my associates, and have these assessed with a view to doing further university studies directly in australia. these costs may be financed in some circumstances. you will firstly, always need the ielts test at level 7, and the universities will want this also.
uh_huh?
