Bridging program in vICTORIA? anyone? did, doing? plans?

is anyone of you currently on bridging program in victoria, australia? or done the prgram..how was it? im planning to enroll as well but still figuring things out..hoping for a kind soul to share infos..on victoria..

im actually thinking of deakin.. or any other schools near glen iris. anyone one familiar? plssss

Hi everyone....I read from the other Australian thread that BP will soon be stopped. Is there any truth to this? I just submitted my docs to NBV this Feb2010 and hoping to get into the BP program "this year"; I don't think I can afford a one year schooling programs in Australia. Has someone any idea if there is really truth to this and where did they find this theory? I am confused and in some form of panic....will someone please enlighten me on this?

Hi Jakey,

I am applying for BP in south Australia and I know that they are going to accredit their course very soon, However, they told me it is no longer than first of April, So hopefully I will be informed if they could get credit for their course by that time. once I get my answer I can tell you. But still I am not sure about NBV, coz as u know all stets have different rules like QLD that does not have any BP at all.

I asked Latrobe, Deakin, Mercy Health, VCHN, Ballarat Uni and Castlemaine Health (NBV accredited to run the IRON) if they are stopping the BP program next year and they said that they haven't received any advise yet so as of now, they still plan to run the BP next year. Some educational providers listed in NBV stopped running the program already like Stawell Regional Health and St. Vincent and Mercy. Where do you plan to take the IRON? I also sent my application package to NBV last February and I'm aiming to take up the IRON this year. Good luck to both of us!

Whew ! thank you Wahine888!!! We have similar timelines so i guess we are buddies here. I would love to go to Deakin, la trobe , or Ballarat but now, anything goes. wherever there is an opening when we receive our approval from NBV. Do we have to wait for the NBV approval before we can apply to the IRON schools or can we do it now? It has been month since we lodged our NBV application, and the days seems to be going at turtle speed :rolleyes::rolleyes:

We have very similar sentiments and plans! I also want to attend the Unis especially Deakin so I can study in Melbourne but I might have to wait til next year coz the NBV letter will certainly not make it to the intakes this year so in that case, which ever school's fine as long as I finish the BP this year. I already applied at LaTrobe and VCHN and LaTrobe replied about 3 weeks after I e-mailed them my application, said they will be waiting for the NBV letter before they can make a decision. VCHN called me just a couple of days ago and said they have been waiting for my reply when they did not even acknowledged my application yet! I told them I was waiting for their reply (I sent my application about a week after I applied at NBV) And they said the same, they can't make any decision yet until I send them the NBV letter. I might also apply at Deakin for the January 2011 intake if my NBV letter will not arrive by June. Applying early will not guarantee a slot but it will somehow speed up our application. Just imagine our application is on 'pending' status and is simply waiting for the NBV letter before they can give us a go.

I also have a letter of offer from Murdoch University in Perth (under NMBWA) and they're giving me until June to decide if I'll enroll for the year-long conversion program. It's super expensive so I'm making it my last choice/last resort.

Don't give up on your dream! These obstacles will just make our dreams so much sweeter once we get it. If you feel like giving up again, just PM me or whatever and I'll rub off some hope on you :)

thanks.. how did you do your application through email or post mail? if it is email did you do the certified true copies or just the original and you attach it to your email? whats the format of your scan documents jpeg or pdf? thanks a lot. coz im planning to send mine today if it is ok for email and just the original coz certified true copy here in UK is very expensive. how did you do with the applicaton form you print it and you fil it up then you scan the completed application form and attach it to your email? is that right? thanks a lot... have you use your NMBWA letter fo VCHN? i thought you have that already or you prefer NBV? thanks..
