Boston College Master's Entry 2014 applicants

Hi everyone,

With the Nov 15 deadline looming close and closer, I wanted to start a topic for everyone applying. I'm just about ready to submit my application. Still obsessing over the personal statement, especially the part about personal development and being a lifelong learner, etc. Not an easy essay topic! How are everyone's applications coming?

Yeah I thought so too, but I was hoping they'd give us more time for that since our admission reply isn't even due until after those deadlines!

I'm surprised they require a decision so early. I asked for a one week extension to make a decision since I likely won't hear from Yale before then, and they gave me a firm "No" because they want to be able to release decisions to the next wave of applicants. I was told I can put myself on the waitlist if I don't send in the $400 by the 28th.

I know, it does seem really early! Especially since they haven't even released out all the decisions yet!

I would imagine people who haven't heard yet will have a later deadline. I'd hope so, at least!

Hi All - I applied to BC for the FNP track and have yet to hear back. Are decisions emailed usually by now? I received an acceptance to Columbia already but getting nervous about BC.

Hi fromCAtoNY! The first wave of acceptance e-mails were sent out last Friday on Feb 7. The school is giving us until Feb 28 to decide and put a deposit down, so you might hear back from them after that date if spots open up for the cohort. Congrats on Columbia! I'm also from CA and am thinking about making the move to the east coast to either Boston or NY for Columbia!

I haven't heard anything yet either (which is good and nerve wracking as well). I hope I will be in those next round of admits. Do you know if we will be hearing by the 28th or after the 28? Those of you already admitted how many of you have decided to go? Any of your heard anything about the program as a whole? Good/Bad etc? Those you have heard, which specialty did you apply for?

Hi! I am waiting to hear as well, I applied for psych. I got an email and had a phone interview with someone from BC earlier this week and she told me that they would be informing of final decisions very soon, so I am thinking/hoping that we will hear on or before the 28th!

Hi guys,

Quick update for those on the waitlist. I emailed a little while ago about extending the deposit deadline and today received a response. They cannot extend the deadline of the 28th because wave 2 decisions will be going out on Monday the 3rd. Best of luck to everyone.
