  1. It will be great to connect with the incoming class--please join us on the Facebook group :). Any other MEPN moms or dads? From speaking to other students, I know it's doable, but I'm still a little nervous about such a rigorous program with a little one!
  2. Just joined the group--yay! I hope you all hear something today. I remember binge watching House of Cards about this time last year, anxiously refreshing my email. Not long to go :).
  3. I've been in touch with quite a few of them since at one point I considered starting with their group. If you PM me, I can try to put you in touch with someone :).
  4. Hmm, strange, I can't seem to find it through searching. Is anyone else having trouble? Hoping you all hear something soon!
  5. Thanks, lexi! I've heard great things about the psych concentration. Fingers crossed for you, maybe I'll get to meet you later this year :). Vikss, can you post a link to the facebook group? It's not coming up when I search for it. Best of luck to all of you!
  6. Hi everyone! Nice to find this thread. Has anyone started a Facebook group yet? I know there was one going around this time last year. I'll be starting as a MEPN this year (psych) and can't wait! Don't worry--admissions decisions haven't been sent out yet, I was accepted last year and deferred. Deferrals are almost never possible, but I had a baby
  7. Declined my spot for psych--hopefully this opens up a spot for someone else! In case future applicants are interested in the possible amounts for scholarships (I know I had difficulty finding this information online last year), I was offered a little over $13,000 in merit scholarships for the first year with an additional $11,00 offered over the following two years.
  8. I just declined my spot for psych, so hopefully one of you on the waitlist hear back soon!
  9. Did anyone else receive their financial aid letters via email yesterday?
  10. I've only spoken to current psych students and psych NPs who finished over the last few years. I'd definitely recommend asking if the admissions office can put you in touch with current students if you have questions about your specialty--they've been very willing to connect people as far as I can tell.
  11. To add to what others have said, I have also heard fairly negative things about the psych concentration from current and former students and am pretty sure I'll be declining my spot and scholarship as a result. Same sorts of issues that have already been mentioned; high faculty turnover and concerns of some important faculty leaving next year (which is a big deal since there are only 3 full time faculty for psych), administration issues, difficulty finding clinical placements, students having to repeat classes and/or being held back an entire year due to administrative stuff. Sounds too risky. I was really taken back by all of the negative accounts I've heard because I was totally sold after my interview. I'm between UCSF and BC at the moment.
  12. That's soon! Good luck to those of you still waiting--I hope you get good news next week :).
  13. Hi matcollege! The details of the merit were listed online in the PDF version of my letter.
  14. In for psych with a merit scholarship!
  15. Did you send in your deposit then, s-lizzy? I'm visiting next week so am very glad to hear you had a positive experience!
