Hello,I was wondering which books are worth keeping for nursing school later.
For example, books for: Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Statistics/Calculus, Developmental Psychology, Nutrition, A&P
Should I hold on to these for nursing school? If so, which ones should I keep?
Thanks all.
I know I am keeping all of my science books, my Pharmacology book and maybe my Human Growth and Development book. I have heard lots of people say that that Psychology material is discussed all throughout nursing school.
I'm keeping all of my pre-req and co-req textbooks. Classes overlap and Nursing classes draw a lot of knowledge from the required classes WITHOUT re-teaching the material since it is expected that you know the material already. Besides, my textbooks so far have done an outstanding job going over material and so I consider them valuable resources.
I never cracked open chemistry again, nor sociology. Pretty much everything else, though, got flipped through when looking for information or checking on something. I'd keep whatever you can.
I finally parted with a few things from my bookshelf once the NCLEX was passed....and that, only study guides! I guess I am now paranoid that I will need to know something and will have gotten rid of the ONE and ONLY resource for that information, LOL....
I am a book keeper but if you are desperate for money (who isn't in nursing school) keep nutrition although, we were required to buy a new one and A&P. As far as developmental psy. any info in that book that you need for nursing will be in your peds or med surg book. It was in ours anyway. Hope this helps.
