BMCC FALL 2018 Kaplan Entrance Exam

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey everyone!

I'm a pre-nursing student at BMCC. I'm taking my entrance exam May 29th, 2018. I'm so excited that the time us almost here. I have a little over a month to study for the exam.

Who else is studying for this exam?

What are some studying tips you have?

How confident are you that you'll make it into this program?

I study everyday. Different topics and as much as I can. I would say for a tip to just be organized and don't stress out a lot over this exam. I am pretty confident that I'll get into this program. Given the pre-req grades and vera GPA, plus the way I'm studying for this exam and my mindset (positivity).

@grandk, how did you find out about the available seats this semester? Did the school tell you that?

I asked Mr. Si the same question but he just showed me a pile of application papers for the evening program and it looked a lot - he didn't answer me.

I also applied for St. Paul's and that would be my plan B =(

@RositaLPN those are solid scores!! No need for other plans.

you will deff get into the program this turn... best of luck !!! btw can you give me some insight on the nursing program in montefiore... what exam do they give ?

@swtxms1005 yes he told me this information. I called him the minute i finished my exam. I was panicking and that is what he said. he said that even though that amount of people applied you need to take into consideration the students who do pass but just went to bmcc for the exam. many people take it, pass it and go to another school... he said that the last time someone got in with 60s was when a student with a high grade made it into the program but decided to give up his seat. which left it open for this person....ugh the stress is killing me... can you share some insight on st pauls program? what exam and requirements do you need ? this was my last shot in bmcc so im forced to look for somewhere else

A little late but my Kaplan score is 76%; and my GPA is 4.0. I'm applying for the evening program.

Montiefiore use the Kaplan exam. But, if I am not mistaken you need to take the kaplan with them. I believe it may be pretty similar to what we already took. For the most part, they require the same as BMCC, but require nutrition as well. They have an information session coming up in July, and you can bring your transcripts for them to review at the session.

@grandk If there are only 60 seats for both Day and Evening, and I know they have 10 seats allocated for 1199 Students, that would be only 50 seats. This is horrible!! (Sigh)

Anyway, I don't think it's too late for you to apply for Fall semester in St. Paul's. They require 1)very basic test and 2)HESI entrance exam for Reading, writing and math but no science-this too is very easy. But the downside is that their review isn't all that great and not accredited. I suggest you do some research and call them to find out.

Don't give up hopes yet though and stay positive till we move through this week!! Fingers crossed!!

60 seats...that's not good for someone like me with a score of 70%. There must be some kind of mistake.

Wow this is a lot to take in right now. I can't believe they're only accepting 60 students. My plan B was to try out Montefiore since they have an evening program. Do you know if you have to take nutrition before getting into the school or if you have to be apart of the school for a full semester before applying?

That's what I was thinking. I literally just lost all hope. :(

I'm with u 100% Brivera90.

I was told that the evening program only has 22 seats.
