I have a housekeeper come in once a week. I agree, it's the best money you'll ever spend. Days off are for fun with family. What a stress reliever to live in a clean house! No more embarrassing moments when company drops by. If I decide to havea party, I can concentrate on cooking a nice meal instead of wearing myself out cleaning.

with six peole in our house I have to pick up daily.
But there is also a chore list that all of my kids must complete or my head spins around and I spit green pea soup
On Saturdays we all clean,or noone gets to have movie day on Sunday.

household of 7 here. If I didn't clean daily, we would start to grow grass in the house. You have to keep it all in perspective. You don't not clean because you have to study. No excuse for a nasty house. JMI

There are 4 people in my household and we deep clean rooms each day (bathroom on monday...family room on tuesday...etc.) The kitchen is done everyday. It sounds like alot but we all rotate jobs, otherwise it just turns into a big mess. I am more willing to clean the bathroom when I have a big paper to write than when I want to do something fun! :chuckle

I pick up at the end of the night-because the clutter irritates me! And do actual cleaning on the weekends-and laundry when it starts to creep over the side of the hamper ...except I avoid cleaning the bathroom as long as possible.

During the day my house stays cluttered, simply because I am home all day with my 9 1/2-month old son and he's messy. :)
In the evenings I pick up and usually on the weekend is when the dusting, laundry, etc. gets done. Granted, I have not started my actual "nursing classes" yet, and that apparently makes a difference.

I dunno. Studying can and does take priority, but a dirty house I won't have. Clutter I can live with.

I can't afford someone to come out and clean my house every week, but I can afford once a month for heavy duty entire house cleaning.
That is an option also.

I agree with NRSKarenRN about the FlyLady!!!!!
She saved my life showing me how to keep my home clean and presentable spending no more than about 30 minutes total each day!

I'm an avid cleaner....that is until nursing school started. My bathroom is always clean but my carpet is made of nursing books! 2 weeks before a test forget it! I could care less what my house looks like! What I do do though is if Im studying hours on end, every 2 or so hours I need a break so I will get up and vaccuum, clean my kitchen floor, throw in a load of wash, etc.....it kind of just breaks the brain freezes I have and then I go back to studying. BOy, what a fun-filled life I lead!

I don't clean as often as I should since I started school, however I keep the house clean enough so that I'm not embarrassed if we have guests.
