Nibbles, are you applying to the MSN? The reason I ask is that -- despite having a wonderful experience at WGU for my BSN and MBA -- I had a heck of a time dealing with my enrollment counselor for the MSN. She kept having problems finding the record of my criminal background check, and also reported that the transcript for my BSN was never received. Buuuut... my BSN was from WGU, which is why I never sent the transcript. :/
I ended up dropping my MSN application and continued my studies at a local university. Concerns about academic incest were the primary drivers for this, but the mucked-up enrollment process certainly didn't help.
I'm normally a huge cheerleader for WGU, but I'm wondering if this is just one person who consistently causes problems.
The enrollment counselor who worked with me was a genuinely nice lady who didn't seem terribly knowledgeable about WGU's admissions policies. However, it is now water under the bridge because I enrolled without any issues and have since graduated.
After I first applied, the enrollment counselor mentioned I was ineligible to enroll in the RN-to-BSN program because my ASN degree was granted by a school that lacked regional accreditation. I told her to confirm this with her manager. After all, a former classmate who graduated from the same ASN program had been accepted at WGU.
A few minutes later the enrollment counselor cheerfully announces, "You are eligible to enroll at WGU after all! My supervisor says your former school qualifies because it is accredited by an entity that is recognized by CHEA (Council for Higher Education Accreditation)."
Just imagine if I were a shrinking violet who had never questioned the erroneous information being given to me by the enrollment counselor. Again, she was a very sweet woman, but not very knowledgeable.
I'd love to get you in touch with a manager in enrollment who can help you get these issues resolved. Please email me at [email protected] and I'll get you connected with someone ASAP.

When the same thing happened to me, I just stopped dealing with them. Getting new enrollment counselors didn't help. They got my enrollment fee, that must have been the goal.
Considering that it's nearly an effortless task to get an application fee waiver for WGU, I highly doubt that WGU depends on snatch-and-grab tactics to beguile people out of the application fee.
All one has to do to get a waiver is find a WGU student or graduate to fill out a form that takes about 30 seconds. Many, many WGU students will be happy to help you with this, because WGU currently offers a $20 Amazon gift card for successful referrals.
Yep, getting the enrollment fee waived is an easy task. If you don't know a student or alumni, there are codes wafting around the net and I have heard that simply asking the EC for a waiver can also work. So I doubt they are pushing to make money off enrollment fees. :)
WGU is very very very low on fees - I went to another online school that charges fees for breathing and existing (pretty much).. :)
Once you pay your 6 month stuff, the only other fee is if you have to take a test a third time. There's not even a graduation or diploma fee.

Over a month ago, I applied with WGU. I was told by the enrollment counselor that as long as my transcripts were received by Sept. 15, 2015 I could start October 1st. I had my transcripts expedited over night with one school, paying over 50.00 for over night delivery, I had one school send them electronically for 28.00. The third put them in the mail the same day, they will not electronically send or do over night shipping.
Spoke with the enrollment counselor a few days later, she said she needed my resume and license number. No problem, got that sent to her. We are still on go for October 1st. I start getting emails from the enrollment counselor, stating that they haven't received my transcripts from school #2. I tell her that I received an email stating that they had. She said, "Oh, okay." Got another email stating she didn't get my resume, I resent it, she said she didn't get my license verification. I resend it. I get another email stating that they have received all proper transcripts, that they will be calling to set up an appointment.
Another week goes by, I send an email to the enrollment counselor about the "intake" interview. She calls me and tells me that they haven't received my transcripts. SAY WHAT?!? I tell her to go look again. Now, I am told that October 1st start date is a no go. I will be starting Nov.1st. Alright, I am okay with that.
Today, 10-01-15, I get a call from the enrollment counselor once again, she says that they haven't received my transcripts. I.Lost.My.Cool! I forwarded every single email to this dumb woman stating that all of my transcripts have been received by the WGU transcript department. I resent my resume and license verification as well. She told me that November 1st may not be a go as well if they haven't figured it out. I told her that I will be applying to other schools now, if they can't "figure" out how to do their job. I am beyond livid with my enrollment counselor.
Has anyone else had this problem with WGU?
