Thanks, I am trying to get my sister to apply there my she said she was told that they do not even look at your application unless you have a 3.0...she has a 2.9

Hi!

On their website it says minimum of 2.5 from previous college experiences.

Good luck!

Shmitty3 - have you received your letter yet? I have not - I may have to bring it in personally to get it in by the due date to qualify for financial aid.

Thanks, I am trying to get my sister to apply there my she said she was told that they do not even look at your application unless you have a 3.0...she has a 2.9

who told her that?? I am honestly not sure what my overall GPA is...in the pre-reqs Im sure its a comfortable 3.0 or more but overall its not that.

I think the big factor is the NLN, tell your sister too apply she won't know unless she tries.

I don't if it was former students or folks just trying to duscourage her. She was also told some other things that discouraged her from applying. I told her to stop listening to other folks, do her own research and speak to someone at the school. She already has her pre reqs done so I am going to nag her into applying for next year.

Its gotta be people trying to discourage her, she should go to an open house and get her answers from the source, last year i think the firs open house was in october or november. She can go and hear for herself and make her decision based on that. Keep on her about it.

To all of you worrying about taking science classes at BI...

Dr. Emmerich is really thorough and you really have to put time and effort into her class, but I have to say she is the greatest teacher I've ever had.

You'll get through.

A friend of mine who just finished her first year at pbison said that they used to let you take some classes at other schools (that is why she was in A&P II at BMCC) but that last semester they really cracked down.

She said that Dr. E. the science teacher is really hard and thorough (again, why she was taking A&P II at BMCC ;)). I am getting excited about taking pharm and nutrition with her, at least her students are super well prepared.

I'm going into my 2nd year at PBISON and had Dr. E. ALL YEAR! She doesn't teach Pharm or Nutrition... only A&PI, II, and Micro (in a 6-wk summer course). Good luck!

Did anyone actually register for their classes yet?

I graduated from BI in June - you don't register for classes there....they don't enroll you for classes that you've already taken that they accept, but you are automatically placed in your nursing classes and the other classes you need. The only time you have to worry about it is if they offer 2 different times for classes (such as nutrition or micro) and then you just let them know if one of the times doesn't work for you. Your first semester you take Nursing Fundamentals (the entire first year class all together), second semester is Med-Surg 1, summer session is Psych and then second year is Maternal/Child/Peds (the class gets split in 2 groups) or Med-Surg 2 and second semester you flip flop. Last part of second year is N203 which is nursing seminars and your senior practicum (3 weeks of working 2 shifts on a floor that you choose). Good luck - it's tough, but the faculty is amazing and it's worth it!

I am going into Level 2 in the Fall and we just received an email from the school stating the online registration system is not up and running as they expected so we had to let them know our preferences via email. They hope to have online registration in the Spring. I am sure they will automatically enroll you and if a choice is to be made about something you will get an email.
