Beth Israel Nursing School NYC

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone applied to Beth Israel NYC for this coming Fall? I applied there and I really want to get in. I always wanted to go. If anyone knows if it's hard to get in, or what score they are looking for on the NLN exam that would be rally helpful. And is it true that the only start giving interviews in May????

CPaulino,

I don't know of other study guides. Pay special attention to the Chemistry and Physics. I've heard there are a lot of questions on these subjects. Chana, did you have your interview?

How did it go?

I'm taking the NLN exam today....I'm slightly nervous. I looked at the practice questions on the NLN exam site and I feel like I wasted my time studying science. The science questions were very specific to medications and hormones...***!!!

sending prayers and good luck to you today, I am sure you will do well.

I wonder what happened to Shana J's interview?

I took the test and walked out smiling. I giggled to myself as I took the science portion. It was very friendly. I had more difficulties during the math component, but only because of my nerves. It took a minute of my valuable time to pull myself together. All in all, I'm satisfied with my exam experience.

Thanks Triple A, I've kept my words and kept you in my thoughts during my chanting. I hope you receive a call for an interview soon.

Glad to hear you feel positive about the exam honeycutts:yeah:, hopefully you will get a call soon. When I took it the science portion was the hardest for me, did you have alot of physics and chemistry on your exam?

I was very prepared for chemistry. I made it my business to learn and understand chemistry. I hated the subject so much that I had visceral reactions whenever I thought about chemistry. I also prayed and chanted that I had a test book with little physics and my wish was granted. I learned a small bit of physics before I headed out to take test. I used common sense to answer the majority of my physics questions correctly. Thankfully, there were very few questions :D. I hope my positive thoughts and wishes for you will also be granted. Have you been called for an interview? Did you mention a composite score of 148? What does that mean?

Good to hear you're confident with your NLN exam Honeycutts.

Triple A, did u wait 2 wks before you got the result? Will they mail the result or call if you pass or fail? Thanks and please advise.

Hey Honeycutts

Glad it went well! I think so long as you study, you always know more than you realise, so well done!

I just wanted to know, to anyone who has taken the NLN, did you need to take spare scrap paper for working out answers, or do the school provide it? Also do they just give you one booklet for the 3.5 hours or do they give you one book for science, maths and english separately and time the subjects separately?

Thanks

Lily

Lily127,

If you're taking the written exam, you'll receive one book with three sections.

Scrap paper will be provided. Make sure the last page says STOP. That's were

I messed up. After completing the last section, or so I thought, I had an

additional 15 minutes and used the time to review questions and confirm I

marked the correct corresponding letters. Some time after the proctor announced

2 minutes, I placed my answer sheet into the book and as the book is closing I noticed

there are two additional pages. I had 45 seconds to answer 8 science questions. Can you believe

that??!! I answered one question and randomly filled in letters. I'm hoping

I did well enough to recover from this fiasco. So I repeat, make sure there are

no more questions. Most of the math questions were conversion questions i.e 25 is what percent

of 147 also converting fractions to decimals. Also, know how to convert from C, F, and Kelvin.

Good luck:p

Oh yeah, one hour for each section.
