Beth Israel Nursing School NYC

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone applied to Beth Israel NYC for this coming Fall? I applied there and I really want to get in. I always wanted to go. If anyone knows if it's hard to get in, or what score they are looking for on the NLN exam that would be rally helpful. And is it true that the only start giving interviews in May????

LICH does have interviews with the applicants, from what I was told that is how they found out about my app. It was sent to be considered, but the faculty sent it back because it was missing info.

Triple A's,

I'm not surprised by LICHSON. That's why I'm praying I get accepted into PBISON. That must be frustrating. I pray you also get accepted to PBISON. Did you check with your school regarding the transcript?

I asked if anything was wrong and she just told me that they do this all the time.. I mean i already had a 2 hour interview.. What else do they wanna know.. really weird.

Aww Triple A's, I hope it all get fixed soon. I saw you got a composite score of 148? Wow there's no reason that you won't get accepted. Just get the paperwork done and its all good :)

Hi everyone!

My name is Jenny and I've been looking around this forum since the I decided that i wanted to major in Nursing and become a Nurse. I've been looking for advice on the forum since the nursing school applications are so long and grueling.

Anyway, today I got a call from PBISN to notify me of my scheduled interview. Its next tuesday! I feel so nervous! I was wondering if you guys have any pointers or any advice. What should I wear? Was the interview long? I'm so sorry to bombard you guys with questions. I just feel nervous!

Thank you!

Hi Jenny,

based from what I've read here & other applicants experience. I think you need to stay calm and try to think of possible questions they might ask you eg. how you plan to support your finances, etc... When did you get the result of your NLN and how long you waited to get a call for interview? Thanks.

Congratulations Jenny :yeah::yeah::yeah:Good luck on your interview. It seems as if the people who've gone on the interview has had good experiences. I wouldn't worry too much. Now, the famous question, do you mind sharing your NLN scores and when did you take the test?

Shana j, how much is the deposit and what is the deadline for payment. Congratulations to you as well:yeah::yeah::yeah:.

Hi Honeycutts,

The deposit was $200 and i don't know the deadline, I was so excited that I just sent it in right away lol!!!!

Hi Jenny,

So the main thing is to be chilled out, it's not a scary interview at all. You should wear something conservative, nothing to fashionable or crazy. I felt like the people who were in the office when I went for the interview were all wearing oversized sweaters and pants. So make sure to look professional and nice instead of glamorous. At my interview, it wasn't really question answer form, we were just chatting and having a nice conversation about nurses and what you think their job is. Make sure to have a good answer for that question......what do you think the job of a nurse is!!!! I'm sure you'll do fine and congrats on getting the interview.

Hey all, I read through all the posts on this forum. I am, of course, in the same boat as most of you. Turned in my complete app in mid March and took the NLN March 25th. I scored the same as Shana J (126) and I'm hoping that gets me in too. Shana, I hope you don't mind me asking, but how were your grades and what is the highest level of education you've received?

HI bp44,

Welcome to the forum. So, Shana J, you, and myself have the exact same scores.

Hey everyone, I spoke to ** ****** (sp) today. She said my application is with the committee being considered. She also said May 11th isn't the only day the committee is meeting. ** ****** also said the school received 950 applications. That means only 13% of the applicants will be accepted . I we're all a part of the 13%.

Wow, I had been really hoping that May 11th date wasn't the end all be all because it's just around the corner. I thought for sure I was a goner. My fingers are crossed. This really is stressful. Honeycutt - when did you turn in your app and when did you take your NLN?

bp2244,

I took the NLN on April 1st. I believe I turned my application in the middle of March.

I'm also keeping my fingers crossed. Have you spoken to anyone at PBISON? What's your GPA?

Hey Honeycutts, I haven't spoken to BI, but I plan to call them on Monday morning. My GPA is pretty good (hs- 3.4, coll- 3.3). I was going back through all the posts and I may have found a pattern. It seems people who applied to the evening and weekends or 3-yr found out sooner. I think there are far more people that applied for the traditional 2-yr program. I'm going to inquire about that on Monday.

How were your grades? and what is the highest level of education you completed?
