Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone applied to Beth Israel NYC for this coming Fall? I applied there and I really want to get in. I always wanted to go. If anyone knows if it's hard to get in, or what score they are looking for on the NLN exam that would be rally helpful. And is it true that the only start giving interviews in May????
Congratulations bp2244, we have almost the same score. I have a 128 composite and 90%. I currently have a 4.0 gpa. I say currently because when I first went to college I unofficially withdrew and you know what happens when you do that. Another concern of mine is that I don't have chem and bio done yet. I'm currently doing chemistry and I will be doing a & P in the summer. I do have alot of my prerequisites done, though. So here's hoping. I have an overwhelming feeling that all of us with same scores here going to get called. I feel really positive about it. From reading the threads from last year and the year before, people with lower scores than us had gotten accepted. so I guess we'll have to wait and see.
Oh, and another worry of mine is on the NLN, I did really bad on the science - 40%, but in the math I got 97% and verbal 89%, so i guess they helped to bring up my percentile as a whole. I know you need a 55% minimum, but I just want to make sure that is on all 3 subjects, right. Not on each individual. Bp2244, honeycutts, Shana J, anybody else out there, can tell me what u scored on each individual subject. thanks, although I'm feeling positive, i'm still stressing a little.
Yes I went to my interview already, 2 times actually. Lol. The 2nd time was just really laid back and just asked me the same questions but different interviewer.. It just went on for 20 mins but the first one was 2 hours. So I was really worried why I'd need a 2nd interview. I even saw some of the comments the dean has made on my last interview (e.g. highly motivated, very neat etc etc).
Ripley, don't worry.. I'm on the same boat as you. Only thing is, I scored low on the English part. But she just looked at it once and asked why. I got 93 on science, 86 on math and only 49 on english.
I'm just waiting for May 12 to try and call Beth and see if I got accepted or not. I'm not gonna wait for the letter. Waiting is so stressful..
Thanks Nurserica for the vote of confidence and congrats on the interview, or interviews. Did they tell you how many students have already been accepted? Did you apply for the 2 year or 3 year program? man, I am spending way too much time on these threads and thinking about BI, lol. I should be spending this time studying for my chem class. oh, I hope I get that call......
Ripley28 - for AD, I got 82-verbal, 96-math, and 46-science. I had also read that the May 11th date is not the last one in which the committee will meet. So, I don't think you should worry about that. Also, what program are you going for? Traditional 2-yr only requires chem and bio. Everything else is part of the program. I heard several different things about whether 55% is required for composite or for each subject.
ShanaJ - did you get lower than 55% on any of the separate subjects?
NurseRica - are those scores for AD? What was your overall composite score? Also, why do you think you had two interviews? I'm betting you got in because they wouldn't have wasted time with a second interview if they didn't like you.
I dont remember my composite. I didn't really look at it that much. I think I misplaced it now but yes I think its AD. Hm I really have no idea why I had two interviews. When I came in last Friday, the dean greeted me good morning and she's like "So you're back for the 2nd time I see have fun and good luck!"
Oh and I think ShanaJ is not the only one whos been accepted.. but in this thread I guess lol. I think she took her nln and submitted her apps much earlier so yeah.
I really wish I get accepted! I'd cry if I don't haha. I want to start learning about nursing so badly
Ripley28,
Keep in mind you're A&P I and II must come from the same institution.
I'm glad this thread is getting busy. My AD scores:
Verbal 82
Math 84
Science69
I was really disappointed by my science score. I had a big boo boo. I was giggling as I took the science portion of the test. I thought I completed the section and took my time to reread all the questions and my chosen answers. After the proctor called one minute, I closed the book and realized I had not completed the last two pages. Can you believe that!!!! I freaked out. I had 45 seconds to fill in the last two pages. I answered one of the questions. I was piffed when I received my scores. That could have put my percentile into the 90's. Oh well, I learned a lesson.....pay better attention!

Lol. You had me a little worried for a minute. I just went through the whole BI catalog and website to see if I had missed something. I'm going for 2-yr traditional.
