hi guys! im a fresh graduate and currently looking for the best placement agency for U.S bound nurses.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Suzanne,

Thank you very much for your advices.I just hope everybody will open their eyes and I hope agencies would be kind enough to understand the life situation of nurses in phil.

to ms. suzanne, do you hear about wilshire staffing and nursing registry, kindly pm me...

No new foreign nurse has any business working for a registry without any experience in the US. You must have a full orientation before even considering that. Best way to lose a license otherwise. Working what we call per diem, means that you can be placed at a different facility on a daily basis, and you need to know how we do things first, before you should be moving around.

Things are done quite different over here, and you will be responsible for charting a full assessment each shift on your patients, including breath sounds and heart tones, can you do that?

thank you for the Information but did you hear about WILSHIRE staffing? Is that a good agency

I have not heard one word about them, but again, you need to do your homework and research where you are going to be placed, the type of orientation, etc. What your duties will be, how many patients that you will be responsible for.

These are things that you need to concern yourself with, not if I have heard of them. You need to know what you are signing and know it 100% and what is included, and is not included.

Once it is signed, it is a done deal, and then you should not be shopping around.

Specializes in Case management, Peds, ICU, Med/Surg.

Yeah...I agree with Suzanne in this matter.

I have processed and paid everything from my pocket..well of course from my dad's pocket.

But the agency I was working with handed me the contract which was suspicious...it had mentioned abt sign-on bonus but when asked to them..they told me it is going for the attorney fee. But I didnt feel comfortable when I see that I have to pay for the lawyer and visa fee.

So..I turned them down..yeah why not...coz I have done everything uptill now..and I am looking for the sponser.

I agree that its very tempting to just have a job and lots of foreign nurses think that oh well..its just a two-year contract.

Well, again think that we have the education and we did all the hard work..why should we give them our hard-earned money..no way...its not me..

Having said that...I am still contacting every hospital and asking them if they file petition for foreign nurses or not. One HR called me after seeing my resume and scheduled me for the interview...its on monday Wish me a Luck...

As well as BEST of Luck to all Nurses to achieve their dreams.:balloons:

Hi! I am arranging everything on my own. If ever I go through the direct hire route, what is the common requirement? Does hospital require extensive experience before it will sponsor you for EB3?

There is nothing different in the arrangements done between the agency route and direct hire.

MY advice GOOD RESUME and COVER LETTER..as well as comprehensive communication.

Moreever, its always good to have experience...gotta look good for the resumes;) ;)

Concentrate more on getting thru your exams first. Themore reputable agencies will want to see proof that you at least passed either NCLEX or CGFNS. There is nothing that can be done with your paperwork, etc., until there is documented proof that you passed one of these two exams.

Hi!

I passed all--NCLEX, CGFNS and IELTS. but im getting impatient and frustrated now. coz until now i havent found an agency or a hospital in Texas who would sponsor me.

Im faced with the big Q of-- what's next?

My father had sponsored my examination expenses and visa screen and now I am processing my visa screen certificate.I am having a hard time finding a direct employer and now that the retrogression is fast approaching, still, I dont have a direct employer because most hospitals' petitioning program are on hold for the moment, but, I decided to wait and be patient..I guess I just have to wait for the new Visa bill to be passed by the Senate because I would still be affected by the Retro this November in case an employer would petition me..I am trying to avoid the services of an agency because I dont want to pay them a fortune, and I find it uncomfortable that they would take a portion of my paycheck every month for period of years, well that is my own stand since my dad was there to help me with my US exam expenses. For the moment, I am busy working and gaining expertise in clinical practice so I dont worry a lot about the retrogression, I am diverting my attention to work and I am enjoying every moment of it..
