Best Placement Agency for U.S

Concentrate more on getting thru your exams first. Themore reputable agencies will want to see proof that you at least passed either NCLEX or CGFNS. There is nothing that can be done with your paperwork, etc., until there is documented proof that you passed one of these two exams.

Hi!

Ideally, concentrating first on passing the CGFNS or the NCLEX is the best thing to do but, under the Philippine setting it's different, majority of Filipino nurses look for a reputable placement agency first, before preparing for the exam. Why? because of the good offers that these placement agencies are giving like provisions for the CGFNS/NCLEX review fees, CGFNS or NCLEX registration fees, travel assistance to HongKong, Saipan or Guam , etc...

Shouldering personally these fees is not easy for the average Filipinos. A $200 NCLEX registration fee is equivalent to almost Php 11,ooo plus other fees.

You can easily see these good placement agencies at the leading Manila newspapers.

Not a smart move, that is minimum of $20,000 for the two year contract. It is much preferable to see the money in your pocket.

And that money is much prettier in your pocket.

The more reputable agencies want to see a passing score on an exam before they invest any time in you, or you are just going to be making things worse for yourself. Your choice.

Hi!

Yes, that"s true and that is the ideal thing to do as I have mentioned on the first part of my message. But it is different in my country and I believe the person who posted this thread is from the Phil.

Most of the nurses here already belonged to different agencies. These agencies are also open to new nurses who recently obtained their licensed offering financial assistance for the CGFNS and NCLEX exams including review fees and travel assistance to Guam, Saipan or Hongkong for the NCLEX.

In fairness,there are also several Filipino nurses who are already CGFNS passers like myself and rest of my friends before we have contracts with an agency but, when it comes to the NCLEX it would be more beneficial for us Filipinos to have an agency first, who would assist us as to what particular place/ state in the US we would be applying.

True, these agencies earn money from us and we know this is only temporary and this is the only way for us to be able to work as nurses in the US.

Sorry, but these agencies earn alot of money from you. And I have actually lived and worked in SE Asia, and I know first hand how the system functions. Have also been doing this for years. There are way too many Filipinos that have been taken advantage of and for no reason, other than they did not know any better. Sorry, but that is not acceptable to me.

Taking $20,000 form the nurse for helping to prepare them is just plain old stealing in my opinion, and if it is a three year contract, then the cost is up to $30,000 and that is a car for one for you.

I am on the side of the nurses, I do not like to see anyone taken advantage of. You are quite new to this board, I have been here for quite some time and there are quite a few in the US because of how they did things under my direction, and are not having to play those ridiculous fees, you could be sending it to your parents instead.

Actually, i have a friend who told me that her agency will take care of everything, promising this and that and i asked her "what's the catch?" she couldn't answer. the problem is she's on a hurry and financially speaking she couldn't afford for all the expenses, so i told her it's her choice...can't do anything 'bout it anymore...what is important is that i have warned her. well, i just hope she isn't signing that contract yet...:wink2: and ms suzanne is really heaven sent to us:saint: thanks for guiding us

That`s why most of the nurses who went there had experienced difficulties financially because they still have to pay back all the expenses , the agencies had spent for them . And truly most the agencies took advantage of that , because they know that Filipinos were very much willing to go there in whatever means it would stake ...

If a nurse can pay for the exams, they they can usually pay for the immigration fees, they will have an extra $16,000 in their pocket at the end of two years. Just think of what you could buy with that.

All I can say is make sure that you read the fine print of the contract, and as I keep saying,

There is no such thing as a free green card, you will be paying for it. One way or another. You can just think of the agency providing a loan at an exorbitant rate.

Hi Suzanne!

I agree with you but we have no other choice because we can't easily apply for work directly to the US without an asssistance from an agency.

Obtaining an appropriate US visa is difficult....apply thru the internet? still we would pass thru an agency, we have no other way except that. Those who can be free willy's or those who have the power to choose are those who have already made it to the US.

This would be my last on this topic. I understand your point, thanks because that is for our own advantage but, that's the way it is here, we can't avoid it.

The next best thing to do for us ( Filipino nurses ) is to look for a good, reputable placement agency who would hopefully take care of us.
