BEST: diversity of people & cultures, restaurants (again diverse), arts/entertainment/theatres, lifestyle, the ocean, weather (even when it rains).
WORST: Anything that has to do with driving: traffic, the 405, parking, the cost of car insurance. And, occassionally the earth moves.

Best - Right now the poppies in Antelope Valley. Beaches, mountains, it's green this year!, warm! People from all over the world - their music & food! Nurses to learn from!
Worst to me too is traffic.

I hear you! If I mean one more waiter who is an "aspiring actress/actor" I am going to just die!
Love UCLA by the way...

When I lived in Calif. they sure had some great vegetarian restaurants! The reason I moved away from Calif. was the horrendous traffic!
The California Poppy is the state flower.
After the rains the hills are bright golden yellow/orange now! California is truly the Golden State!
Go see them, you'll love it!
The weekend after next is the Poppy Festival.

PS: From UCLA take I-10, it turns into I-5. Then go south on I-14. If you leave in the morning and return in the evening you will be in light traffic while the stop & go is opposite you. A good thing about working every other weekend is days off through the week!
Wish I could go. Still in DC for school.. I will be graduating in MAy and will be moving back home shortly....
Graduating next month! Congratulations!
We went yesterday to see the flowers. They are extraordinary this year after so much rain.
Next year I think they will be beautiful too.

Best: the ability to wear sandals almost every day of the year, the abundance of good ethnic food, the beach, never being bored, and of course UCLA (boy did it make my day to see someone put my alma mater on the best list)
worst: the cost of living, the 405 (aka the devils hwy), frequent encounters with USC fans
