Bellevue College hopefuls 2014-2015

Published

Hey everyone, I didn't see a thread for this yet so I thought I would start one.

Is anyone else applying to BC for Fall 2014/Winter 2015 cohorts? I'm getting nervous with the deadline less than two months away. I did all my pre reqs there and it's my first choice school which probably adds to the nerves a bit. Are any of you finished with the application process yet? I think it's nice that this year, the background check is after the initial application just for the sake of saving money if I didn't score high enough on my TEAS to get in.

Kelsey,

Thanks for sharing your spot on the waiting list. I also saw that she was accepted in June. I'm wondering how quickly people on the waiting list will find out. Those of you that were accepted: does the letter say to contact them within 2 weeks?

We have to pay our deposit by may 31st

Don't give up hope, you guys on the waitlist! Hopefully only the people on this forum accept the offer, because that would open up a lot of spots! ;) also, we have to pay our deposit by May 31st! So soon after that people should hear about getting bumped up :D

Thanks guys. Anyone know exactly how many people are accepted total for Fall and Winter? I'm not giving up hope but also not going to get my hopes up. ;)

I believe that 48 total are accepted. 24 in fall and another 24 in winter. But don't lose hope! Just like you saw, last year they got up to 22 on the waitlist.

Thanks thriftykid. I'm wondering if it went any higher than 22 because not everyone that was accepted posted on allnurses. I'm guessing the chances are pretty slim that they went above 22 though.

I emailed Chie with a few questions and here is her response. She is so awesome. It puts it in a better perspective for those of us on the waiting list. So we may have a chance! :)

Hope this helps.

"The waiting list is for the winter 2015 cohort. In the past, we contacted 20-30 students on the waiting list. This does not mean 20-30 spaces are available. Some students are already accepted by the another program or are not able to come due to family, work or financial situation and therefore they do not accept a spot. Typically we have 50-60 students on the waiting list. We accept 28 students each in fall and winter cohorts. The total enrollment is 56 per year for the full-time program."

Congrats, direwolf! Is it time to change your screen name to happywolf?

Congrats, too, to kare_bear, thriftykid, gottmilk, direwolf, bellucy 27 and anyone else I haven't congratulated individually. It's like springtime when all the flowers pop.

Stephmonster, I'm waiting to hear from Shoreline. It was my backup application but the more I investigate, the more I'm thinking it's my number one choice. They may not send out notices until after we need to accept at Bellevue; in that case, I'd probably sacrifice my deposit and you'll move up one. Don't give up hope of getting in just because you haven't heard anything on June 1st. The spaces will trickle in for you.

SeattleJess: Shoreline is a great program. I currently attend Shoreline and love it, but I have not done the volunteer hours yet so I have not applied. Good luck!

@Direwolf- glad to know that I wont be the only Game of Thrones fan in our cohort :p

Is it bad for my nerd cred that I just started reading the first book?
