Yesterday, less than one month after I had started my new job as a Telephonic Case Manager, the temp agency I work for called and told me that their client didn't want me back. It seems that their manager overheard me complaining to another nurse about the way their company conducts their business. Instead of confronting me with this issue directly, the manager gave me the boot in abscentia (coward!)
The Account Manager told me today that the Manager who fired me "felt terrible". I'll just bet she did! :angryfire

CaseMgr1 :icon_hug: What an awful thing to happen to you so soon after starting your job. Just remember....when one door of opportunity closes, another door of opportunity opens. If you noticed things were not kosher so soon in your employment, it is better that this happened to you early in the job than later when you really would have invested a lot of your own talents and energy into the job. Stay encouraged! :balloons:
It has. I had a good telephone interview this afternoon for a Case Manager position with a hospital which is only 20 miles from where I live (versus the 60-mile one-way commute) I had with this other job. I began to see very early on that these people were running the equivalent of a "Boiler Room". Instead of waiting and complaining, I should have gone ahead and left, as I was in no position to encourage change. My fault....
I hope you get the job you interviewed for this afternoon! Keep the faith! And, if that job doesn't turn out to be what you had hoped it would be, shake the dust from your feet and bow out safely and silently. I never advocate staying on a job that is not a good fit or doesn't have one's name all over it. You'll know when something is a good fit for you. :)

I am so sorry to hear of such terrible situation. All you can do is move on. Things happen for a reason, (I still think she is a coward too )....so better and bigger things are in your future. Best of luck to you in your interviews.

I'm sorry that happened to you. You probably just wanted to blow off steam, and this nonsense happens, huh. Good luck to you. I have learned myself that sometimes it's best to keep your mouth shut with some things.
Amen to that! Funny, though, how this Manager seems to ignore one of her own nurses who is openly argumentative with her and who makes it a regular habit to moan, groan and complain...and nothing happened to her.

Considering the situation you described, this is a gift. I know it is not easy to be without a job, but I am sure another opportunity is coming your way and soon. I Know it is very stressful to work for a company with questionable ethics. I will keep my fingers crossed for the new position close to home. Good luck.

I am sorry, but like said above, it's possibly a gift. You know what they say about a closed window----a door often opens in its place.

as a male in an otherwise female profession, you learn that anything you say that can possibly be interpreted in a politically incorrect way and held up to the light and screamed over, will be. what happened to you is commonplace in this profession.
i'd say you learned a valuable lesson, and others would be wise to learn from your experience. best of luck.

CseMgr1, I've had similar experiences and have learned the hard way to never confide in anyone while on the job and to keep my opinions to myself because you just plain never know. It took me a long time to finally heed the advice my dad gave me when I started my very first job. Keep your eyes and your ears open and your mouth shut, walk away from gossip!!!
