Congratulations to you 2! Can't wait to see you both in Fall ☺️

To those who are conditionally accepted, do you mind sharing what you got for the entrance requirements:

Psych -
Electives -
CASPER - Quartile (And when you took it)
These info might also be useful for applicants in the future ?

Hi!!
Congrats to everyone on their acceptance! I can't wait to meet you all in the fall. I had some pretty average grades, but my supplementary was what probably helped with my application.
Eng - B
Math - B
Chem 11 - B
A&P - B
Psych - B
Electives - B + A
CASPER - Fourth Quartile and it was taken on April 5th/2022
In addition:
- 5 years of customer service experience
- I have my MOA certificate and did a practicum at a hospital
- Currently work as a clerk at a hospital
- Took LIBS 7001 and LIBS 7021, which are courses that are included in the program, prior to applying
I did not have a 3.0 GPA, but this just goes to show that grades aren't everything! I think I was able to prove to them in other ways that I am capable of success.

I just got my email today, so it's official!
Math 12: 94
Chem 11: 95
ENGL: 87
PSYC: 96
BHSC: 95
Casper: 4th Quartile (Taken in February)
I want to note that I had customer service experience (~4 years), a (tangentially) related diploma, as well as some years of experience working (non-patient side) in the ER/OR.
If anything I think the additional experience and Casper performance are probably the more important factors!

Hi everyone,
Congrats to all of you who have been accepted so far!
Here are the stats that I applied with:
Pre-Calc 12: 88%
Chem 11: 87%
ENGL: A-
A&P: A- & B
PSYC: B+
ELEC 1: A+
ELEC 2: A+
I scored in the 4th quartile on CASPer (took it Feb 1) and completed a BA in crim/psyc. Overall GPA: 3.33/4.33 (last 2 years was probably ~3.8)
Work/volunteer experience:
3.5 years customer service
4 months as a research assistant
8 months as a teaching assistant
7 months as a behaviour interventionist
10 months volunteering as a crisis responder
I didn't have any experience that was directly related to healthcare, but I think I had a lot of transferrable skills that were mentioned on the Overview page on the BCIT admissions site.
I was also conditionally accepted and received an official email this morning ?
Here are my stats:
I completed my first degree and did 120 credits.
Here are my experiences:
3+ years retail, 1 yr research, currently working for covid testing
I also had multiple volunteer experience related to mental health + palliative care which I mentioned in the mandatory questionnaire

Do any of you know if BCIT has started sending out rejections as well?
My application status still says it's under department review... Is that normal?
I don't think they start handing out rejections yet.
When I contacted (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) (admission officer) before, she mentioned the last date for applicants to be accepted is June 15 ? so those who were accepted yesterday are definitely on the earlier side.

Hey - I didn’t take the challenge exam but I had the opportunity to, decided against it because of exactly what you said. Hope you get the answers you’re looking for but given your experience the courses should be an easy 90+!
